Both solution are correct in removing BIOS password, but sometimes removing the jumper when the computer is off wont remove the BIOS password while removing the jumper while the computer is on is definitely fine and 100% it will remove the bios password just like Voodoomox has said if you haven't tried it Tbirdfan1 you can do it in actual to prove that it wont damage the computer, After the BIOS password was remove select CDROM as the primary boot device then save the change the computer will reboot put the Opearting system installation CD then continue formatting and installing the system...

Hope that helps........

I dont mean to disagree but they taught us in school never never remove the jumper while the power is on it can make the board unstable turn the computer off and find the bios jumper and remove it and move it down 1 pin so that the top pin is now showing then start the computer and start the computer you will enter into the bios setup screen if you hit enter it will ask you if you want ot remove the system password press y and press enter then it will ask you to verif y removing all passwords press y again and hit enter than it will tell you that you must return the jumper to the original position it was in just turn off the computer and place the jumper back in the original position it was in and restart the computer not too hard good luck !!!!!

I have problem in asus A8V-vm motherboard in that hard disk is not detected in BIOS but Win-XP is working properly and when I tries to install new windows XP it shows an error that hard disk cannot be...

Asus A8V-VM Motherboard coming with SATA RAID option, thats why you could not see the detected HDD in system BIOS. But you can see the the detected HDD in RAID BIOS. You can enter to RAID BIOS that will pop up after system BIOS. If you are using old version of WinXP it will not detect the RAID controller of you motherboard. Thats why you cannot able to install WinXP. While you booting from WinXP CD press F6 key when the WinXP installer prompted for third party driver. Copy the RAID driver provider in driver CD to a Floppy Disk (INF file) and insert it, hit enter to continue the installation. If you are using WinXP Service pack 2 or higher you do not need this step it will automatically detect the HDD.

I think my onboard video card not working on asus pss800 vm because I get a NO SIGNAL when turned on.

make sure connection hasnt come out on either end (pc or monitor). Try installing a video card from a friend just to make sure it's not the motherboard causing the problem. Make sure it's enabled in the BIOS, sometimes it can turn off if bios is reset due to the battery going bad on the board.

ASUS P5RD1-VM raid controller

try to find updated drivers from ASUS and see if you also can find a BIOS update. Most times the BIOS update will solve most known issues. OPreferably do it via old-fashioned diskdrive, that is still the most reliable.
