How to download music to a creative zen player i just do not know where to start. we got a creative zen mp3 player( new) as a gift abou 3 years ago. we have the actual player, what i believe you call the usb cable the little cd and the ear buds. i have some music on my windows xp media player. i plugged the cable from the player to the back of my laptop into the plug (one of two on my computer) with the corresponding little sign on it.(three curvey lines with an arrow not the one with the + sign).i really don't know what to do next or if that is even right so far. i wonder if i am missing another cable as there is another port on the actual player that says line in but has what i think is a microphone picture next to it. can anyone help me. thanks

DUDE.................

U Have plugged in the cable in the right spot ok.....the slot where u plugged in the cable in ur laptop is the USB slot. (Line in is for audio ....don't bother with it.........)

now when u connect ur laptop and ur player like u did, a small icon should appear on ur notification bar(

the notification bar is on the extreme right side of the taskbar where ur system displays the time.)

If u are using Win 98 or older then u will have 2 install the drivers that came with the player in a cd.

if ur running Windows 2000, XP, Vista, NT then a window should pop-up installing the drivers automatically( u don't need drivers for any version of windows after 98.)

Then once this window closes go to my comuter and u should see an extra drive in there.(for eg. if u have say 4 drives like C:\, D;\, E:\ and F:\ and ur CD drive is G:\ then the player drive will be H:\)

all u have 2 do is copy the music files from ur PC and aste it inside this drive. thats it :-))

Now close my computer. left click on the icon in ur notification area.(i.e the icon that appeared when u connected the player) and in the pop-up menu select safely remove device.

Now remove the cable from ur laptop and enjoy.

if u have not understood any points above or need further clarification then please feel free 2 say so.

Good Luck,
Lethal Weapon

I just buy creative zen stone 1gb

Hey Sheikhea!

You won't need to download or install any programs if you have Windows Media Player on your computer. You can use other programs but WMP is probably the easiest!

  1. Plug in your MP3 player using the USB cord (should be in box)
  2. Open WMP
  3. (If your songs are already in Library skip this step). Click "File" (top left hand corner) then "Add to Library..." Click "OK" WMP will now find all music on your computer and add it to Library.
  4. If the internet is connected WMP will attempt to find song info such as title, artist, album etc. Otherwise right click on song and click "Edit"
  5. Click on "Sync" tab (top of player). A sidebar should appear with "Creative zen.. etc" written on the top.
  6. Drag songs into sidebar.
  7. Click "Start Sync"
  8. The songs will now download onto your MP3 player.
To organise your files into folders etc. go to "My Computer" then "Creative Zen etc" then "Music" and create folders (right click "create folder") copy, paste, and drag your songs in folders as you like.

You can now unplug you MP3 player and turn it on!

Please reply so I can know if this information was helpful or not and can help you further.

Happy MP3ing!

Music only coming out one speaker

If you're running xp or vista, you should download this firmware http://drivers.softpedia.com/progDownload/Creative-Zen-Touch-Firmware-21101-Download-14028.html first and see if that fixes the problem. If that doesn't cut it. It's a hardware problem probably with the headphone jack. You could either send it in and it'd probably take a while to fix and alot of complications and money and bla bla bla. or you could just invest in a new music player such as the new 80gb zune which is very great. or an ipod classic, or even another zen product (not recomended)
