I have a Durabrand 1301 TV, and I seem to have lost the instruction manual for it.
Unfortunately, my cat has knocked the remote on the floor too many times, and the button to allow me to play my DVD player no longer works. Is there a way to access the DVD player using the buttons on the TV? I haven't found one for it, but have noticed that the volume buttons on the TV have subtitles 'set menu + -' and the channel buttons 'enter' and 'reset'. I don't know how to access these 'subfunctions' or if it would help me even if I did.
On a related but different note, I do have a 'universal' remote. So far, I've gotten to about 0135 without finding the code to make it work for this TV. Any ideas?

Try a RCA universal remote with an input button. Try the codes for Orion , Sansui and RCA. Access the menu by holding down both volume buttons on the front of the set. There is no access to the jacks on the front of the set without a remote. If all else fails get a RF Modulator. This will allow you to watch your dvd by using the antenna jack on the back of the set.
