DCR SR 85 - Unable to Retrieve Management Information: I get the message " Unable to Retrieve Management Information" when I try to download the video on my computer . What do I do ? Help me

    i have this problem and i tried to update but the update did not work! i still get the "unable to retrieve management informatio" error.

When you turn on your connected Handycam, you are prompted to select a connection from the touch screen. Make sure you select the USB-HDD connection, and not the flash memory.

Update the PMB program of the camera to the latest version 3.03 or smtgh.
Go to support webpage for the zone you bought the camera , for Europe i know its :

Let me know after installing the update if the prob is solved .

I have the same issue. I have download the latest PMB software and ensured that I am in the correct USB mode but I still cannot start the Handycam utility to retrieve video from the HDD. Anyone foudn a resolution? I've scoured the web but cannot find a suitable answer!

Sony handy cam dcr-sr45 dvd wont burn


Try burning the Video to the Window Movie maker and finish the File as a High Resolution FILE AND THEN try burning the final movie file to the DVD A little long but should work i think

Handycam utility will not work


Took me a lot of cursing, and it's very simple. On your camera's screen there are 2 options saying "USB Connect". Only when you look really closely do you see that the 1st one is for the hard disk and the second is for a memory card. I expect you are using the wrong one..I was!
