Hi,
The most common caused why your unit didn't power up was because of faulty power supply board. Since you've already checked the AC line, the fault now is quite technical if you haven't an experienced in electronics. The board must check the faulty parts like the fusible resistor in line with the shorted voltage regulator IC/transistor (mounted in heat sink), dried electrolytic filter capacitor, open/shorted chopper transformer, shorted diode. You must know how to test this parts to pinpoint where the fault came from. If you can't troubleshoot the board yourself, you may replaced it by inquiring to your local pioneer service center for the power supply board's availability.
Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!

My pioneer sw-8 subwoofer will not power on

If your Pioneer SW-8 subwoofer is not powering on, there are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
  1. Check the power cord: Make sure that the power cord is securely plugged into both the subwoofer and a working electrical outlet. If the power cord is loose, try unplugging it and plugging it back in.
  2. Check the power switch: Make sure that the power switch on the back of the subwoofer is turned on.
  3. Check the circuit breaker: The subwoofer may have a circuit breaker that has tripped. Check the circuit breaker on the back of the subwoofer to see if it has tripped. If it has, reset it by pushing the button back in.
  4. Check the fuse: The subwoofer may have a blown fuse. Check the fuse on the back of the subwoofer to see if it has blown. If it has, replace it with a fuse of the same rating.
  5. Check the auto power function: The subwoofer may have an auto power function that turns it off after a certain amount of time if there is no audio signal. Make sure that the audio source is playing and sending a signal to the subwoofer.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, there may be a problem with the amplifier or power supply in the subwoofer.

Hi. I´ve just buy a used Pioneer dv 383 and it works OK with Cd´s, but when I try to play a DVD on it, it turns off. Can u help me?

There are 2 lasers in it. One for dvd and one for cd. The dvd lens is overheating and causing it to shut down. Better to get a refund and buy a new one. They are very cheap at WalMart.

Hooking up this dvd player -- I have audio but no

TRY USING THE RED AS THE YELLOW AND THE YELLOW AS RED, THIS SHOULD MAKE ONE SIDE OF THE AUDIO NOT WORK AND THE VIDEO WORK. REPEAT WITH THE YELLOW/ WHITE. TRY DIFFERENT CORDS. TRY IT ON A DIFFERENT SYSTEM. YOU MAY HAVE KNOCKED SOMETHING LOOSE INSIDE IT.

BUSTED FUSE

A lot of times you can buy replacement fuses at a local electronic or hardware store and they're easy to replace. Check the fuse. If it is blown, it will be obvious and make sure that the set is unplugged before replacing it. If it blows again, or if it is not blown, your problem is probably in the 'X' volt regulator and you will need professional help with the repairs.
