Use the Print Diagnostic Utility. You can download it for free. Please follow these steps:
- go to www.hp.com on you web browser - click support and drivers - select "download drivers and software" - type your printer's model # or name (ex. Laser Jet 1020) - click search - you should be on the window which lets you select an operating system - select your operating system and click "next" - step 2 should appear - click utility - click HP Print Diagnostic Utility - click download - run or save the file (i recommend you to save the file)

How do i get my printer from offline mode back to online mode

  • Make sure that the printer is powered on.

  • Pull up 'My Computer' then click on 'Control Panel'. From the Control Panel, click on 'Printers and Faxes'. You will then see a list of Printers connected to the PC.

  • Delete pending print jobs to make sure that the correct document will be printed later and for you not to waste paper. Double click on the printer that you want to use, and a window will appear showing you a list of pending print jobs. Simply click on 'Cancel All Documents' from the 'Printer Menu'.

  • After you have deleted all pending print jobs, right click again on the printer icon and choose 'Use Printer Online'.

  • Try printing a test file, if it doesn't work the first time, reboot the PC.

Have you deleted all the pendding jobs in your print Q and reboot your computer & copier? Some one may have sent a print job on a odd size paper? Did you see if some one sent a job to the by pass tray. Try to put paper there and let the job run out.. Good Luck

J5780 does not stop printing. I had to remove all paper

First off all switch off the printer then click start button on pc go to settings and then printers and faxes. Select your officejet over there and open it. inside if you see any list of pending jobs or even a single job then right click on it and select delete. It will start the process of deleting just wait for few seconds switch on the printer and once more select delete by right clicking. once more switch off the printer and now it will be ready for use.

Xerox Phaser 6100 will not print

Yeah you need to replace that imaging and transfer units for it to print. That has a counter on it and once it comes up with that message it will not print anything.
NOW THE WARANING. Once you replace the unit. Everything you have sent is in the memory and will print out.
What you will want to do is once it starts printing, continue to cancel the jobs until they are all out of memory. Believe me, the jobs are there....

Find the list of print jobs sent to the printer

If this is for Microsoft XP, click start button (bottom left corner of screen) select printers & faxes, you should see a printer there that has a black (not grey) tick next to it, which means it's your default printer.. (& probably the one you are interested in) Double click it, the pending print jobs shud be in there. You can hold them or cancel them or prompt them to print if needed..
