Question about GPS

Where do i connect wires on new Intek briggs & stratton motor going into cox compact tractor Model09M7. Red, white, grey & black wires from motor.

I have similar problem robjanottle. the red connects to the power cable in the equipment harness and the white connects to the light switch.this is from B & S website where u can get wiring diagram for dual circuit alternator. ******** if i know where the grey and black wires go. the grey is attached to underside of fuel bowl but don't know where it ends up and maybe black is earth? i am going to local mower dealers to have a pretend look to buy mower but will only be interested to find where this friggin' grey wire goes to. good luck mate

Engine wont fire....

There should be 1 black wire that grounds the coil(s) for kill. Be sure this black wire is not grounded when switch is in on or start position. It will be connected to the coil(s) at the flywheel.

White oil in any motor indicates the oil has mixed with water . Drain the oil change the filter and find out how the water got in.

check the oil see if it smells like gas if so the carb is not sealing over filling and draining into the oil a new carb can go bad or ts gas from the bad old one

I was worndering if you could tell me where the 2 red wires and 1 black and the 1 gray wire and where they go to for charging and starting and the choke and if electirc and manual.

one grey and black go together and 2 reds go together.

Yes. It should get power when you turn the key to run, this lets fuel into the carby. When you turn the key to 'off ', it cuts the fuel off. The black wire in the same plug (on the other side of the engine near the starter motor) goes to the coil and is the engine kill wire which is connected to the ignition key switch and gets earthed out when you turn the key to 'off '. Dont make the same mistake I made and have it connected to earth all the time, the engine wont go at all! Aussie Steve.

The grey one should get power when the key is turned on. This opens the solenoid valve on the carb and lets fuel in. The black one should get earthed when the key is turned off, this shorts out the coil and stops the spark. Aussie Steve.

From your description it seems that the starter is not engaging to turn over the engine. First ensure all the connections of the thicker cables to the battery, starter and tractor frame are clean and tight. If starter motor is turning but still not engaging it will mean that the pinion on the starter motor is binding on the shaft. You can buy a new starter pinion gear from your local B & S agent.
To replace pinion, remove starter motor from engine, remove old pinion and put on new one and reattach starter to engine. If fuel & spark are right you should be up amd running.

I HAVE A BRIGGS & STRATTON INTEK 18.0 ,JUST FINISHED CUTTING THE YARD,WENT BACK ABOUT 20 MINS LATER TO PUT LAWN TRACTOR AWAY. WILL NOT TURN OVER WHEN I TRY TO START, FUEL LEAKS OUT OF THE EXHAUST AND AROUND THE BOWL

go on internet and google briggs and stratton engine electrical schematics or manuals and usually u can download one for free
