My Whirpool dryer Model LGR 563 isn't heating now. Does it have a manual or electronic pilot light? I don't see a pilot light lit through the hole.

Can't light pilot due to breeze coming out of unplugged gas wall heater

It sounds like you have a direct vent heater so you have to take off a pilot access cover to light the pilot. So what happens is the draft coming out of the cover is blowing out the match before you get it in the hole. The trick is to get the match or lighter in the hole quickly as possible so the pressure inside the heater will equalize and the match will stay lit. Then you should be able to lite it. Get it inside the hole fast and it will work. Don't forget to put the cover back over the pilot access or the draft may cause the pilot to go back out.

How to relight pilot on boiler

Every boiler will have manufacturer lighting instructions on the unit, so be sure to read it thoroughly and turn off the gas for 5 min to make sure there is no gas build-up around the boiler. Some have electronic ignition and some require a manual lighting of the pilot. If the control knob has only ON-OFF, it has electronic ignition. Simply turn off the power (at the electric switch on the boiler or at the breaker box) and then turn it back on and it will relight itself when heat is needed) If it has ON-OFF-PILOT, you will have to light it manually. You will have to turn the gas valve knob so the arrow is pointing at the word "pilot" and depress the knob, while lighting the pilot with a lighter or match. Continue to hold the knob down after the pilot is lit for about 30-45 seconds to allow the thermocouple to heat up. If you release the pilot knob and the pilot stays lit, you can turn the knob to the "ON" position and the burner will light. Please be careful. if you are not sure what you are doing, call a professional.

Gas furnace does not work

Simple things first. Is the gas turned on? Some furnaces have a gas line fitting to shut off during summer months. The gas valve should line up in the direction of the gas line. Two: is the pilot lighting. Can you see a flame? It may also have an electronic igniter. When it comes on you should see a glowing hot stick or something similar in the pilot viewing hole. If you have a combination valve for you pilot. You must first turn it to pilot, hold it in and light it manually. Hold that button in until the pilot stays lit, then trun it to "on". If the thermostat is in the "heat " position and the thermostat is set to call for heat by turning the emo up higher than the current room temperature, the main flame should come on. Otherwise something complex is wrong with your system

Gas dryer not heating up

it probably has a igniter, not a pilot light that lil hole is a check sight hole, close the door and set the drier to start , within a few seconds you should see a glow plug light up, if not,, check the main fuse in the back of the machine,, this is normally caused by a lack of flow for the drier vent and over heating

Pilot

It probably has an electronic pilot light. It should light by itself. If you have a real old one, you have to open the cover at the bottom, and light the pilot.

Dryer turns but no heat and knob doesn't move

Check the switch on the motor. It may have failed, or has a wire/terminal broken/disconnected. It is a multi-contact switch. both sections must click. Could also be mechanically loose on the motor and therefore just not getting fully activated.

Hope this is helpful.

Gas dryer with no heat

check the ignition might be a glo-bar element or a maintained high voltage spark module. once there is a pilot a flame rod or a millivolt generator opens the main valve for fire.
