Hello, I am using the Pioneer DEH-2900MP(the red version with no aux-in on the front) radio in my car. It has what looks like an aux-in on the back,I really want to be able to use my iPod to play music through the radio, how do I do it?

Hi, if you're looking at the RCA jacks in the back, those are preamp outputs to use with an amplifier. The only way to get your music in there is to add an AUX jack by tearing the unit open and finding the audio signals. Then you have to rig the jack to work in place of the CD when a jack is plugged in. It takes an oscilloscope to find the right points to tap into.

SOURCE: aux

there is an interconnector to connect this unit to the aux source (CD-RB20/CD-RB10)(sold seperately).
After connecting, press SOURCE until AUX appears in the display.
Press "play" on your ipod.
i sincerely hope this answers your question.

SOURCE: Hook an ipod to Pioneer DEH-16

The RCA jacks on the rear of the head unit are rear pre-amp outputs. (google it if you need an explination on what purpose they serve or see the installation guide) With that said, I am able to play my mp3 player through them but since they are 'rear' pre-amp outputs my mp3s only play on the rear speakers. see this post for more...

My Pioneer radio the DEH-2460R has on the back the white and the red cabel plug in, but i can't seem to activate the aux function is this possible with this type of radio?

That's not an auxiliary input, it's an output. Pioneer units that have an auxiliary input use a 3.5mm mini jack, not RCA jacks. Your model does not have an auxiliary input, or any way to add one..

I need a installation manual for a pioneer radio DEH-2900MP

The Pioneer EU site has the manuals on the product site: http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/products/archive/DEH-2900MP/media.html . Expand the section marked Manuals and the first document is the installation manual. The in-browser link is http://docs.pioneer.eu/Manuals/DEH_2900MP_CRD4131_installation_manual/ and the page has buttons to create a PDF or print the document.

Crutchfield.com has the User Manual and Installation Manual as one PDF on the archived product site: http://wwv.crutchfield.com/p_130DEHP290/Pioneer-DEH-P2900MP.html . Make sure to select the Details tab. The link to the manual will be right below the What's in the box? header. The direct link to the manual is http://images.crutchfieldonline.com/Manuals/130/130DEHP290.PDF . The installation instructions begin on page 33 of the PDF. (Note: you will need Adobe Reader to read the document.)

I hope this helps.

I have a pioneer DEH 2400F and I need to know how to access the menu that allows you to enable the AUX input.

Normally the source button on the front panel control can be pressed on each time for the source tto change from radio- CD and AUX. Make sure that a signal is connected .

How do you use aux jacks on back of radio

The aux on the back are usually outputs for amps and subs. If there IS and aux in, it is usually on the front panel and accepts a mini stereo plug.

Aux sound problem

It sounds like you've connected to the front or rear audio RCA output.

Pioneer CD players generally don't have a direct auxiliary input like that - what you'll have to do is get a CD-RB10 adapter(it plugs into the CD changer connector on the back, and your cable would plug into that).
