Gary Find a similiar model online and see if you can download a manual. I am installing the same microwave and lost my manual but remembered enough about it to install without a vent. I have have the templates which help but are not as critical as you might think - if you are not venting.

All in all, I would think that if you anchors are secure and the wood is at least 1/4", it should be fine. But I would contact Panasonic.
