How to PC Monitor Input - scousemartin_7.jpg

you will then need to to switch to pc input and your computer should display on the tv, if your using the tv as a secondary display from your computer. I.E. you already have a monitor connected or its a laptop you will need to go into display properties in your control panel and click on settings and then enable the second display.

How to switch from analog to digital mode

Any contemporary monitor is able to switch analog/digital mode automatically if connection from signal source to monitor is set up properly.

Connect digital output from your graphic card to DVI input of the monitor. Disconnect any other signal cables from monitor and switch on both devices (PC & monitor). Wait a while. Monitor checks its inputs and a activates digital DVI, because it is only one active input on it.

If none picture excluding error message of monitor is displayed, go through these steps:
1) Check whether your monitor is set for automatic input selection. If monitor buttons have no response try to use analog input to activate screen (any picture, desktop background...) and then get monitor menu access by pressing menu button.

2) Find out what connector type has your graphics card in PC. Possibilities are: DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort and some their options. See Wikipedia for connector look if you are not sure.
Remember that blue D-SUB (VGA) connectors are analogue and you cannot activate digital mode through analog VGA cable.

3) Use appropriate cable to connect monitor to PC.
Example: Your PC has HDMI output. Use HDMi-to-DVI cable. Your monitor input is DVI and common DVI-DVI cable is not suitable in case you have PC with the HDMI.
Note that DVI-to-DVI, DisplayPort-to-DVI etc. cables are available. You must buy right one.

Be aware that "Auto" button is inactive in digital mode of monitor.

Compaq D315 showing no input signal

Check if the cable between PC and the monitor is tight and re-plug it.
Try using a different monitor - to check if monitor isn't broken. If another monitor works - it's a problem with monitor. It could be just a wrong chosen input - if it's true specify please your monitor type.
Try using the monitor on a different PC - if it works then you've a problem with your Compaq D315. Probably a problem with graphics.

LG Flatron L2010P monitor. Says no input signal with the monitor plugged into the PC. I know the cable and PC are good as they work with my other monitor. Thanks for any help!!

Make sure the correct input is selected. This monitor has both analog (VGA) and digital (DVI) inputs, and it may not be automatically detecting the input you're using. If the proper input is selected and the monitor still says there isn't any input signal, about the only option is to replace the monitor or try to find a replacement signal board from an online source. Most repairs need specialized tools to diagnose and then change the bad parts.

Change input timing for monitor when monitor ia

Restart your computer, and keep pressing F8 until you see the Windows "start-up" menu.
Choose "start in safe mode" (to get 800-by-600 mode, which the monitor should accept).

Starlogic monitor - no sound

Did you plug in a sound input into your monitor? It will be a separate wire from the video input.

If it has a 3.5 mm stereo input jack then it probably has speakers, and you should connect that jack to the green headphone jack on your PC. If it has no input jack then it probably has no speakers.

Of course, the sound input might be included in the VGA cable, in which case that would divide near the PC with a green jack-plug on the end. Again, plug that into the green socket on your PC.

Monitor problems

It is possibly your video card that is having the fits. Try replacing your video card or have your CPU checked... It is not a problem with the monitor, rather a problem with the computer...
