I have a 52 inch RCA rear projection TV and have had it for nearly 5 years without any issues. Now when I turn the TV on, the button lights up green on the front as normal, but after about 5-10 seconds, the button and tv turn off? It all started when I was watching TV one day and about 30 or 40 minutes into the show, the TV turned it's self off...I turned it right back on and this is what it is currently doing...? What can I do to hopefully fix this issue because the TV is a great TV and I would love to still be able to watch it. Thanks!

I would try resoldering the flyback terminals thats a component thats prone to have solder issues and it will cause those same symptoms.

SOURCE: 52 inch rca rear projection

Hi,
I repaired an RCA 52" TV. I found two capacitors on the board that were bad. They were bulged on the top. This seems to be a common problem on many projection TV's. Try searching this website using the model number as your keyword.
Hope this helps,
Dan

Your TV is overheating.. easiest remedy is to point a fan at the back of the TV or... clean the inside of the TV, Im sure its full of dust and stuff... this prevents air circulation inside the TV thus creating more heat...

SOURCE: i own a 52 inch rca projection tv and last week

Most likely the Horizontal output transistor has shorted. When it shorts it causes the power supply to chirp. This is a common problem with this series of TV. Have a shop check it out. It should not be real expensive.
