When i press the power button to turn on my phone it shows red light and wont turn on.....and whenever i plug in the charger it still gives solid red light.......and is not turning on? what could be the cause of this issue....
I have the same problem on my Touch, and i read a thread on here saying to throw it in the freezer for a few hours then let it thaw out... turns out that it actually works.. however its only a temporary fix because im still having the same problem.. so i hope you have a freezer near by, and definetly keep a back-up phone. once it turns on, copy ALL the important information because there is NO longterm solution besides getting a new phone... which i am currently trying to do (i think im going to go blackberry.. my father has one, and he hasnt had any problems with it at all....)

my tv has the same problem. I found if you unplug the TV for a couple of days, then plug it back in, it should work. The tv will also do this whenever there is a power failure or if you unplug the tv to use the outlet for another device.
1.Check the device's battery level for at least two bars of strength. 2.If the battery level is low, charge the battery. 3.If the issue is not resolved, remove the back cover. 4.Remove the battery. 5.Wait 10 seconds. 6.Press and hold the W key. 7.While pressing down the W key, re-insert the battery. •The device restarts and after approximately 15 seconds, the 'Recovery' screen appears •Release the power button but *continue holding the home button*, for another 30 seconds. Step Thanks
I have this one and it works in a different way so this may help everyone struggling.
1. Turn off the earpiece if it isn't already on 2. Press and hold the power key - when it comes on in about 5 seconds, keep pressing the button 3. About 3 seconds later, the light should change from a steady pulse to a solid light, you can then release your by-now-sore finger 4. Start searching for the device on your mobile (or other device) 5. Pair it when found (if this doesn't happen automatically) and enter the passcode 0000 when prompted. 6. All done
Hope this helps those struggling with Rob's solution,
