No guarantee, but try these easy steps before you do anything else. Unplug both ends of the cable that connects the dock to the computer, wait a few seconds then plug them back in and try the transfer again. If that doesn't help, uninstall the EasyShare software, then go to Kodak.com and download/install the latest software.
Close the Kodak EasyShare software from your system tray (down by the clock).
Go to www.apple.com and download apple quicktime.
After you have installed quicktime successfully, add the videos to the software.
Since the pictures were downloaded successfully, videos are also transferred.
They are usually saved in your My Documents\My Pictures\Kodak Pictures.
A friend of mine was having the same problem and come to find out, she was going onto the Kodak website to transfer the pictures. I told her that she doesn't have to do that, just press the button from the dock (sometimes you have to hold it down for a few seconds) and a box opens up in the right hand corner on your computer screen, click transfer all. sometimes I have to play with it a few times for it to go. I have had the DX6440 for almost 5 years and have had good luck with it. As a matter of fact, I love it. I recently bought an Olympus E-Volt 500 and I like my little Kodak better, especially for close ups. I hope maybe this solution will help, I know it did help my friend. She was going crazy and that's all it was. Now my Olympus, I have to transfer from the site. Hope this helps!
!. remove all easy-share software. 2. Down load a free image editor such as Google Picasa
Windows does not need software from a camera CD to load images- it simple see camera an a removable drive. A proper editing software is better than any 'get you started stuff' on a Camera CD>
There's a chance that the drop is irrelevant to your problem.
You could try using a small eraser to clean the battery contacts down in the chamber (make sure to dump out any eraser particles) and try a new CRV-3 battery, which because of it's slightly longer body produces a little more pressure on the contacts. If that doesn't work to improve things then your cam might need a repair, your call there.
Good luck
