When turned on, my Playstation 3 console shows a screen indicating i need to do a system restore. The system restore starts automaticaly and upon completetion the system resets and returns back to the initial screen that indicates i need to do a sytem restore....its a continous cycle
Hmm. sounds like a bad drive. you probably need a new one. if that doesn't work, then you need to get a new ps3 because the issue could be with your firmware chip.

I had a similar problem. My PS3 did not start the disk based games.
Those disk based games were not visible in the game menu. I did not
have problems with the normal movie DVDs or Movie Blu Rays. Those were

Hi there. if you have PS3 Firmware 2.5 you could be in look. there is a System Restore ability on the PS3 which will allow you to restore your PS3 to a working state. and here is how to do it ! :
