Question about Mitsubishi WS-55807 TV

Mitsubishi WS 55807

I was looking for a solution to my problem with a Mitsubishi Model# WS 55807. I push the power button, to turn TV on a small click with the green light comes on, another click 1 sec. later turns it off(NO picture).

I found you on Fixya~YOU Wrote to someone else, and I tried your suggestion to them, and did the self-diagnosis feature to help with diagnosis of shutdown problems.  I got a 2-2 pulse .   2 - 2 = Short protect (short protect monitors low voltage supplies)
Can you tell me what part that would be and it approximate location for example when you open the back of the TV would it be on the immediate right hand side or ....etc. Or maybe you have a how to video Posted.
Any help is  appreciate.
Thank you. Li

We also have the same problem. Our TV was doing exactly what you have described and when we had a technician look at it he said it was a liquid leaked from projection tube on main signal board. He is looking to see if he can fix the board (dry the board) etc, but Mitsubishi does not make that board anymore. He said if he cannot fix it the television is "junk". It is a lightly used TV and we feel as if 3000.00 is thrown away as Mitsubishi does not seem to be too concerned about this problem. You may notify us at the end of this week to see what the technician has told us and if what he is doing has worked.

I have a similar problem with the power cutting out on my 12 year old Mitsubishi projection Model # VS-50501A. I first noticed it while playing video games. I stopped using it for that and it was ok for awhile (although white letters on the Tv started to blur with a reddish tint.) Yesterday my daughter played the Wii for two hours without trouble. After sitting for over three hours, the TV will not turn on. I unplugged it overnight and it still will not start. I have the TV apart and have blown out all the dust. Where would I find the board that has the liquid on it? If the part is available is it affordable to replace myself?

    Thank you.

I also have the same problem where it turns on but no picture and turns off in a second or two. Someone told me that meant my bulb was out. I can't figure out how to do the self test because I don't get any response. When I plug the tv in there are three flashes of the power light. What do you think?

I have the MS-55807 TV for nearly 7 years already, and have had problems twice before, but was covered y extended warranty, luckily (or unluckily). The most recent problem is exactly as happened to Girl 1. The TV just simply shut itself off after about 3-5 seconds with the power indicator turning on green. I have tried many different ways, but it could not be turned on even once. I would appreciate any suggestions for a solution. -Jim

Good Day, Girl 1;
Hey, Girl 1, I have four girls not counting my wife . So, helping you may be difficult. Just kidding!
I would highly suspect that you have fluid on your TV's PCB's (printed circuit boards).
So, at this point that you should call an Authorized Service Center and have them give you an estimate before any repairs are performed.
If you want to try repair on your own e me at [email protected].

Thanks you and Good Luck, big IRISH.

Won't come on

The power board has failed and will need to be repaired or replaced. you can remove this board and, replace individual parts and save a lot of money. You will be inspecting for swollen capacitors and resistors. also, look for discolorations on the board itself.

That is a typical problem in the power supply. It could be a switching regulator that has i think 7 pins, but it gets the power supply up and running with around 157VDC. If that is missing the set won't power up at all. Where are you located. I'm in Louisville Kentucky. Let me know if that works for you. Keep in mind there are quite a few fuses in there too. so check those. I think on that model there is 7 or 9 fuses to check. Talk to you soon. Jay
