When I sign in playstation network i get an message saying and error has occurced (80710A06) how do I fix this?

Hello,

The U.S. PlayStation Network is down at the moment. Sony Entertainment is working on this. The code is from the site not a physical error with your PS3. That code says - "80710A06 - An error occurred during the install operation (error when downloading game from PSN - network error occurred." The only way I have heard of to fix this is to reset the system to defaults. Go to the settings -> System Settings --> restore system defaults --> then restart your system. This will clear your code. However The PlayStation Network is down and this too can be in part the problem but the hard reset is what takes care of the issue when the PSN is running normally. I'd wait till the PSN comes back online before a hard reset.

If there have been any recent changes to your network, the PS3 may be having trouble connecting to PSN.

Playstation is saying an error has occured I have been signed out of network 80710a06
This means the PSN network is down. A maintenance is being done, and I must inform you that this is a general situation to all PS3 users all over the world. This will take a while before it is over, say up to three days. Hope this helped.

Hi,

Usually, when PSN server is down, it makes this type of error to occur. I believe they are working on the servers.

There is no easy fix to this, you just have to wait for an unknown amount of time till the network server comes back again.

You can reset your network and try again. Or If you have a friend that uses PS, check if that of your friend has this same error.

I keep getting error code (80710A06) what is that? won't let me sign into playstation network.
Error Code 80710A06??? Personally I think the network has been hacked. I don't believe any 'Routine maintenance' would take so long. PSN say the network could be down for a couple of days, so It'll be Saturday before we're all hopefully back online.

Sony had an update, to find people with pirated games. Your account hasn't been hacked. This is just Sony's way to find piraters. (iligal games) :)

This error can occur when the PlayStation Network is down, or when your router is not forwarding ports.

It does appear that the network is down, as stated here. However, you can still check to see if port forwarding is the issue.

To check if you are port forwarding, visit this site and select the router you are using.
