How do I align screen using Vista? I have a broad black band near the center of the screen that I can't move.

you are at base service pack one
and computer should have been updated to service pack 3 years ago
from service pack 3 a windows 10 upgrade is possible

try an ethernet or usb wifi connection .

any windows vista computer is a x32 bit system
with upgrades can run x64
x86 is the current

if you are running anything higher than 32 or x64 software the computer will be slow sometimes freeze or shut down

Your transmission must be slipping in 2nd gear and 4th gear these pins are selective sizes and requires a special measuring tool to get proper size. If trans shifts fine from 1st to 3rd most likely the band anchor is broken. Drop the pan look at passenger side of transmission near dipstick entry point there is a open area if the band is way from the reverse drum then it is broken remove TCC solenoid this is up front and center of transmission then remove transmission place tail shaft down remove torque converter and front pump by prying in open area discussed early but moving the input shaft around you can remove the band for replacement and reassemble the same way with new gaskets DO NOT lift up on shaft it will de-spline the clutches and very tough to re align. INSPECTION

Verify correct front and rear tire pressure, put the motorcycle on a level floor or pavement area with minimum light, put the motorcycle 25 ft (7.6 m) away from a screen or wall measuring the distance from directly below the front axle to the base of the screen/wall, draw a horizontal line 35 in. (0.9 m) above the floor on the screen/wall, load the motorcycle with a rider, and passenger and any cargo normally on the bike when it is in use so that the weight will compress the motorcycle suspension as it would be in normal use, stand the motorcycle upright as it would be when being ridden i.e. with both tires resting on the floor or pavement and with the front wheel oriented in straight forward alignment, turn ignition the switch ON, set the handlebar headlamp switch to the HIGH beam position and then check the light beam for proper alignment. The main beam, which is a broad, flat pattern of light, should be centered equally above and below the horizontal line on the wall or screen with the light beam pointed straight ahead and when properly adjusted the headlamp will project an equal area of light to both the right and the left of center. Adjust if necessary to obtain the foregoing light pattern and placement.

ADJUSTMENT

Remove the snap plug on top of the headlamp housing, loosen the adjusting nut on top of the headlamp, move and adjust the headlamp to obtain the light pattern on the wall or screen as is desired, tighten the adjusting nut being careful not to move the headlamp and then recheck the alignment and re-install the plug.

Loosen the horizontal adjusting bolt so you can adjust the headlamp beam side to side, loosen the vertical adjusting bolt so you can adjust the headlamp up or down, align the headlamp to obtain the desired pattern on the screen or wall, tighten the bolts and recheck the alignment and light focus pattern.

If you have a horzontal black line (left to right) panel is bad.

Try to print without high speed. If it's ok, you need to head alignment both black and colour.

take drum unit out, look on top and move plastic blue tab from 1 side to the other a few times. very important to make sure you replace the tab to the side it was originally on or you'll get a big, broad black band.

The first one sounds like one of two bad boards. If you get color here always(component input (Y Pr Pb) then it's the terminal 2 PCB, and if not it could be FMT board. Either way you would need further checks to make sure. For the other set i would need email for instructions, because of broad range of problems!

No. The optical engine is OK. You need an adjustment in the light tunel. Call a tech to do it.
