Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

Wireless? Thanks, did not know about the "dongle". Before I buy 1 how can I verify that the Lexmark Optra 312 is ready for wireless? I believe they were manufactured starting in 2000. Would they "probably" be set up for wireless? How can we verify this? Thanks, Michael

You need the drivers to install in your printer list.
This is a link from Lexmark's site to help you with it.

I believe that the information that you have been given is correct. The VIP dongle is no longer available.
As for the second part of the question, do you have a damaged dongle or has it been lost completely? If it has been lost, there is no way to replace it without buying a new software package.

Hooking up a Lexmark OPTRA E Printer to a Vista - USB Port

I do not believe that the Optra E is supported by Lexmark on Vista.

Not all products from the Optra family (if any) can meet the demands of that platform.

I have a Lexmark Optra M410 and I have an error message which reads "921 Service Fuser error". What should I do?

Looks like a hardware failure. Googling "lexmark optra m410 fuser" it appears you can buy a new one for around $100, but I don't know how difficult it is to install. A call to Lexmark tech support couldn't hurt.

I have a Lexmark 13t0101 that prints but makes a loud noise like a gear stripping. The paper comes out wavy from side to side like it has been hot. Any suggestions? ken bagwell

The printer you actually have is a Lexmark Optra E310 or 312. The number you gave was for a toner cartridge that goes into the printer.

Sounds like your having an issue with the fusing assembly in the printer. Here's a link for the Lexmark service Manual that will walk you though testing diagnosing and resolving the issue. If you need the part I'd recommend contacting Dale @ Seattle Platen - 1-800-221-2388. He has complete availability for Lexmark parts and much cheaper than retail.

Here's the manual:

Hope that helps you.

Wireless Printer Server for Lexmark Optra 312

You needn't go for any Server, just get a USB Wi Fi Dongle (If your Printer uses the Wi Fi technology). Install it and turn it on. If your Printer has Wi Fi connectivity, the Dongle will sense the Signals & will detect your Printer and you'll have all the options similar to Wired printer. For more help, you may call a Service Personnel or the vendor that sells you the dongle will be of help in this concern.

OPTRA T 610 Lexmark printer.

It sounds like you are describing the pick arm or autocompensator. It also sounds like you have the printer turned on its right side for that to be on the left. The part you are looking for is part # 99A1056 for the Optra T610.
