My computer is indicating fan error during boot up and then shutdown. I removed the fan and applied 5V dc to motor terminals. Doing this caused to fan to run normally.

This is normally the CPU fan - is it working?
Is it connected to CPU fan socket on mainboard or a different socket - it must be connected to correct socket or fan will not be detected?

What is code 67 on a LG PTAC

Hi Jason, The link below is a web page, Click the 4th down for an LG Ductless HVAC & PTAC Error Codes manual.....
https://www.google.com.au/search?q=LG+PTAC&oq=LG+PTAC&aqs=chrome..69i57j69i61&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#q=LG+PTAC+error+codes

Code 67 ODU fan motor not rotating or proving rotation. Verify fan motor plugged in correctly & fan rotates freely. This can be a failed motor, failed board or motor could have failed and caused board failure as well. Verify 310V DC on motor wires separated by empty terminals on plug with motor plugged in, 0V DC = failed PCB, 310V DC = likely failed motor. Next step: Unplug motor and manually spin the fan (keep it spinning): on same wires you just tested, 0V DC indicates motor failed and caused board failure. 14-30V DC indicates a good motor

Fan on Dell M5030 Starts on startup and then shuts down but computer continues to boot

Lots of fans are variable speed. Meaning they spin faster when the computer is hot and slow down when not. It's most likely spinning down. If the fan was bad the computer will either shutdown or generate an error during BIOS and halt the boot process.

IBM R51 laptop when start the laptop it canot boot and error display thermal sensing error

When the CPU overheats then it will shutdown (i.e. thermal overload) and won't boot up again until it has cooled down.If this is the problem is not fixed then the CPU will eventually fail.
A faulty fan causes this problem or the fan and heat sink assembly are cloggedwith dust.
Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan. If the fan and heat sink is clogged withdust the remove the dust and make sure the vents are clear and dust free. Use acan of compressed air to do this.

Fan Error

Fan error usually means the fan isn't working and may cause the system to overheat and destroy the intell chip. Probably need a new fan and it will be expensive to get done and hard to find someone to do it. Ask IBM for help.
