Describe your 7" G-Netbook

There may be many reasons for this. Please check the following things one by one.

1. If you have another known good laptop then try it with your wi-fi router. See if the wi-fi router is able to connect to the internet

2. If you don't have another laptop then use an ethernet cable (RJ45) cable to connect to the wi-fi router. See if this helps.

3. While connected with the wi-fi router see if you can access the router. open any internet browser and type 192.168.0.0. you should get the router page. If you don't get then you have to configure the router first.

4. Check the internet settings of your browser. There will be "internet options" or similar in the menu of your browser. Click that. In the GUI you will get "connections" tab. Click that and select the proper wi-fi setup.

I have a EPC mini netbook and it says I have a wireless connection, but it wont open a webpage? Whats the problem? It has internet explorer 6

That just means you have a connection to your router but the routers not connected to the internet. It sounds like your username and password settings in your router are not set inside the wireless router. If you plug your netbook into the router with a network cable and see if you can get internet this will prove whether its what im saying or not. To connect to your router open internet explorer and type in the address bar 192.168.0.1 with most routers and once connected check all your details. Most internet providers will help you with this for free if youre not sure. Cheers and please vote

My acer aspire one wont connect to internet. it says it is connected to wireless, and i have wired it to modem but the problem still persists. please help.

Based on your description, the following is assumed.
1. The service to your Internet Service Provider is through a cable or DSL modem.
2. Internet service was initially set-up with your netbook directly connected to the modem.
3. A wireless router was since added and is using the direct wired connection to the modem.
4. The netbook is connected to the wireless access point being provided by the router.
5. The netbook says it is connected to the wireless access point but still no internet access.
The problem is likely due to the modem capturing the MAC address of the netbook when access to the internet servce was initially set up using the netbook directly connected to the modem and now the modem will only allow access with the netbook directly connected to it. You can check this out by reconnecting the netbook directly to the modem. It may be possible to "flush" the captured MAC by unplugging the AC power to the modem, waiting a few minutes and then powering back up with the router connected in place of the netbook. To make it easier, you may want connect your netbook directly to the router's LAN side to check if you now have internet access through the router. If you still don't have internet access, you will need to use your netbook to log onto the router to clone your netbook's MAC address for the router's WAN connection. The router's user guide/manual has directions on logging in and doing the MAC address clone. It will also have an explanation as to what is a MAC address.

Please un-plug the power from the wall for your Modem and router if you are using one. Please wait 30 seconds and then plug them both back in. This is the most likely solution if you are able to pick up other peoples signals but not your own. I hope this helps and thank you.

How do i get wireless internet if i can't find the password to my household router

You can reset your household router back to factory specifications and then re-enable your password. There is asmall hole on the side of most routers that when a tooth pick or a straighten paper clip is inserted, and pushed for about ten seconds resets the router. Then you have to go into your router setup and re establish your password in order to protect your network. The information of how to do it is contained in your manual. If you do not have the manual, then visit the routers site on the internet and down load a new copy of the manual.

from another computer, go to the routers configuration screen and make sure the status shows that it is connected to the internet. Also the routers internal LanIP address must be 192.168.1.1 for the netbook to work.

Yes how you connect to the internet with your sylvania 7" netbook what programs you use to connect to the internet

Make sure your DHCP routers LanIP is setup as 192.168.1.1(nothing else will work). This is needed for wireless or wired access. On the Sylvania netbook press fn-F9 keys to turn on the wireless access. click and launch the wireless icon on the bottom of the screen and choose your wireless network from the information tab and click connect. Look at the connection status below the wireless list.

you will need to add the wireless network manually.
First you will need to remove the network from the prefered network list. I believe the Operating system on the computer is XP. and the security on the wireless network is WEP. make sure that you are typing the correct network key.

I have just purchased a netbook. How do I use a router to connect to the internet. I already have a modem. Do I plug the router into the modem??? How will the netbook pick up the signal. Thanks

If you have an internal modem, just plug the ADSL directly to it. If not, the router is at the same time the modem, just plug the ADSL line to it then connect it to your netbook (of course the modem/router must be configured properly).
