Question about SanDisk Sansa Clip MP3 Player

3 Answers

I cannot listen to an "audible" book on my sansa player. I get the error message "please activate device with audible manager to play this title". I don't know what audible manager is or where to activate it - frustrating!

For this problem, my suggestion is to use an Audible AAX converter to convert AAX to MP3 Mac/Windows and then you can get it to play on Sansa well.

If you get your audiobooks from Downpour.com or Audiobooks.com it's way easier, too. Downpour.com doesn't put DRM protections on their files, which is what Audible is doing there, so you can just get the mp3 and put it anywhere you want. And Audiobooks.com does protect their files but the process is still much easier with them than with Audible.

"Audible" books are copy protected to prevent unauthorized copying or sharing.
Download the Audible Manager software from http://www.audible.com/sw
When you load that software and sign on to your Audible.com account, you will be able to sync the information into the Sansa player that will authorize the audiobook to play on the Sansa.

When I try to listen to my audiobook, a message pops up saying "Please acivate your device to play this title". How do I activate my device? (I got my audiobook from audible.com)

I think this has nothing to do with the philips mp3 player and more to do with the audible website.
~~ Activate Each installation of AudibleManager will need to be registered with Audible.com in order for our audio books to play through the software. If the audio is going to be transferred to a device or burned to CDs, each device and CD burner must be activated as well. A total of 3 AudibleManager installations are able to be registered to 1 account at 1 time. Each installation of Audible Manager may have up to 3 devices/CD burners activated at 1 time. ~~ have u done this?

Wont download audi books from audible manager

Make sure audible manager is recognizing your player, if so please give a more detailed description of your problem (error messages) etc.

If audible manager is recognizing your player you highlight which book you would like to add then click the add to player button.

Hope this helps.

When trying to listen to the book i just downloaded, it says "you need to activate device for the same account the title was downloaded for"

It means you are entering the wrong user ID...I got the exact same error message trying to use my GoGear ViBE 4GB with an audio book I got from audible.com, I contacted customer support and the problem turned out to be that I was trying to log in using the wrong user name example I was using "username" instead of "[email protected]" when I finally got my username correct it worked just fine.

I have a message on my sansa clip that I want to get rid of so that I can continue to listen to my book. I can't listen till this is straightened out. It says synchronize to continue your music...

Audible books are protected, you can copy them into device, but you can't play them (...subscription...appearing ). You must use audible manager to sync audible books.
You should delete audible books that make pop up a message " synchronize to....", otherwise, your device always pops up the message when it meet the audible books.

You have to download "audible manager" from audible.com. Use it to transfer audible books to your device. It's free in period time and free some books.

Hi.
I report a solution from Portable player FAQ, let me know if it works:
1. Delete the title in the Overdrive Media Console program.
2. Then log into the Audiobook site at http://e.hbpl.org and click on My Account, My eItems Checked Out, and click the Download button the website to re-download the book.
3. Transfer the newly downloaded parts to your player.

Can't transfer Audible files to my Sansa Clip

The link to the operating manual (which includes the Audiobook instructions) is here:
http://www.sandisk.com/sansa/assets/English/products/Clip/Clip_userguide_en.pdf

What I would do is drag and drop the Audible files from the folder that Audible creates to store your audiobooks to the Audible folder of the Sansa Clip, instead of using the Audible Manager.
