Ok, This Tv is ctc169 chassis, right?...Solution 1: Replace 2 small capacitors in pwr supply. 2.2uf 100v and 39uf 100v. Sometimes you need replace 470uf 25 v too. Look for possible leak fluid from ctr's. SOlution 2: Replace High volts splitter ( the box with splitter high voltios to each picture tube (CTR)), located in the front with 5 red wires (high volts conductor ) and 5 grounds (White wires)...Try and you will repair this set. My TV had the same problem. I called Sony yesterday and they told me to reset the TV. I did so yesterday, and it seemed to work. Here is the transcript with instructions: Please turn ON the TV.
While holding down the RESET button on the Remote control, press the POWER button on the TV.
The TV will turn itself OFF, then back ON again.
Release the RESET button.The TV will go thru the initial setup, and should work normal.
When the " SONY Bliking Codes " generated the circuits self diagnostic to trigger the pulse because some error accure....5 times blinking mean there's something wrong whit RGB level,the level not balance after 2 second due at first time the tv on...the protection circuit will send the error report,the tv will have no picture or sound....you will need to check at M board there's much things you have to do...
same problem. TV turns on but no picture or sound. when i press power button on the remote control orange light flashes for about a minute and goes back to red.
