or if you don't want to go through all the trouble on opening the laptop you can also buy ( 150M USB WIFI Wireless LAN Adapter 2 4 Network Antenna for Laptop Desktop... )

Check the wireless router and high-speed modem. If the two are not powered on, or if the Ethernet cable connected the two is not completely inserted into both connection ports, you are unable to access the Internet on the Acer Aspire One laptop computer.

2 Activate the wireless Internet connection on the laptop computer. Right-click the wireless icon on the desktop, then choose "Enable" from the pop-up menu. Without activating the wireless receiver on the Acer Aspire One, the laptop is unable to detect any wireless network.

3 Select the appropriate network you wish to connect to. Your computer may be attempting to connect to a different Internet connection, preventing you from access the network you desire. Right-click the wireless icon, select "Search for available wireless networks," then choose the network you want to access.

4 Restart the computer. The system may have booted and failed to detect the wireless receiver. Restarting the computer corrects this issue.

Your wireless adapter might not be active by default when you start your system, normally can be accessed easily by pressing [Fn] key + F-1-12 varying between systems and manufacturers. Tip: look for the F-key with a antennae or radar icon/symbol on it.

As I don't have experience with an Acer, I can only suggest something to look for and try. I have a Toshiba, and on the front of the laptop is a switch you have to turn on to engage the wireless card. Once that switch is turned on, I can "see" all avaiable wireless networks in range. Hope this helps.

Do not be in a hurry as nothing has gone. In the system tray click open the WiFi icon and select Search WLANs. Windows will automatically search and give a list of WLANs within reach. Select your WiFi hotspot and give WEP key when asked for.

To go wireless:

1.- check if your wireless device is working
2.- If not you have to turn it on
3.- Select your wireless network (control panel>>network connections>>wireless networks)
4.- Connect to the network (is the network is pass protected you will prompt for a password)

If above doesn't help, please describe better your issue

look on the front of the lap top for a button fo rthe wireless network and turn it on
