Question about Insignia IS-LCDTV32 32 in. Television
My 80 year old father has purchased a 32 inch Insignia TV with built in DVD player. He purchased it from Best Buy in Peoria, Illinois. He purchased in March of 08 and has had to take it in for repair because DVD player did not work. After they sent to Chicago for repair and having it for atleast 2 weeks
the DVD player still is not working. Best Buy refuses to try to get a new TV for him. He did not buy the extended warranty. He paid over $700.00 for this television to begin with. It obviously is a faulty TV. You would think the decent thing to do would be to replace his TV. He also has not received his reward certificates. I am very unhappy at that store and I will be sure to tell everyone I can BOYCOTT BEST BUY!

if you get a service man to come out and look at the tv there are three capacitors at the top of the power supply that look like they are about to pop replace and the tv will wotk fine. they cost about two dollars each

There are other places you can take monitors to get worked on. I believe just about any TV repair facility will also be able to repair LCD TV's as well. You may want to first try something else first however. Go buy yourself a UPS Battery Backup that has AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulation) built-in. I'd try doing that before paying someone to try and fix it. Besides, if that doesn't do the trick, then you can always take it back for a full refund.

If you have a cell phone with a camera on it, aim the remote at the camera and look at the screen on your phone. Press a button on the remote, and see if you can see the light blinking on the remote, on the cell phone screen. If you can, at least you know the remote's working.
If it is, check to see that there is nothing blocking the line-of-sight to the screen.
Finally, when all else fails, try a cheap universal remote. Go through the manual programming steps.
After that, the only solution is a faulty IR sensor in the unit itself. Bring it in to a repair depot....you should probably still be under warranty.
