Hi there,

If you have not reinstalled you OS yet you can still set the pc to factory settings using a couple of keystrokes. Turn off you pc. When you turn on the pc hold CTRL button and tap F11 this will open the Dell pc restore option. Just follow the wizard and it will set the pc to factory settings. Warning, this will delete you files. If it does not work, you may need to do it the long way using the setup CD's that came with it.

if it comes with windows 7 or vista you can try and tap f8 until you get a boot menu and there should be an option to repair your computer, if it's windows xp you're kinda screwed unless you can access the recovery partition.

Back up you data first. Then to factory reset your Dell -
Turn off and reboot your computer. When you see the Windows flash screen, depress "CTRL" and "F11". Be sure to press them simultaneously and release them simultaneously. This will bring you to a restore utility.

Telephone Dell, but first get the unique Dell asset-tag number from the decal on the back of the desktop. With that number, Dell will ship you a set of "System Restore" CD/DVD disks, via overnight courier.
Use those disks to reinstall Windows.

If you have the original dell restore disc's
then insert disc one and reboot the computer

As it boots up enter the BIOS and in there tell it to boot from CD first.

It should then boot from the restore CD and from then on just follow the prompts.

ALTERNATELY it may offer as it boots up a "press F? to start restore" or similar use that option to start the restore process.

I could not see any way to actually download an .iso for the recovery disc for the machine on the Dell website. Perhaps you could call Dell's customer support? Go to www.dell.com to get contact details.
