connect to TV using VGA port and select device or mode to PC in tv menu. or using remote
press laptop fn +F4
or see display change button in FN buttons .press with or without FN button . if you use HDMI pls cinnect with HDMI cable and in TV pls select HDMI mode in video mode
There is a row of Function keys at the top of the keyboard on every Toshiba notebook. These give you quick access to some useful functions. To activate them, just press the FN button on the keyboard together with the function key to activate the following commands.
I'm assuming you are connecting the laptop to the plasma screen with an HDMI cable. If you have done so, then have both the TV and laptop turned on. Log into the laptop with an account. After you have logged in, you can press the function key (Fn) and usually its F4 (the key has a picture of a square, this represents the external display connection) at the same time. The plasma tv should display what is on the laptop.
So, Fn + F4 should work.
Normally the computer will detect that you have hooked in the HDMI cable and will automatically send an signal to the HDMI cable. It sounds like the "automagic" didn't work.
What you need to do is press fn+f4 to cycle the display mode to send a signal through the HDMI port. This works in a multi-mode way. You hold down fn and press f4 one time. Don't let go of fn and you should see a mode indicator on the laptop display. Each time you press f4 it will cycle to another mode. Depending on your specific configuration you might need to cycle through VGA first to get to HDMI.
After you connected the HDMI Cable to the TV...Did you press the FN + F4 Key on the keyboard... The first screen you will see is the notebook screen is blank and the TV has got the desktop on top of it...The second time you press the FN + F4 then you will see thedesktop on the notebook and as well as the TV...The third time you press the FN+F4 you will see the desktop on the Notebook...
use a s-video cable or a monitor ext cable and use fn+f4 to switch
pc mon to ext mon.
n.b. f key is usually f4 , models vary.look for square icon on f key.
fn+ that key; thats fn and say f4 pressed together.
Easy...first connect the hdmi cable between laptop and tv. Press and hold the 'fn' key on the laptop keyboard - bottom left corner. while holding the fn key, press and release the F4 key. This will toggle the laptop between its multiple display capabilities.
Press and holfn - press and release F4 until you get an image on the big screen.
You need to press hold the FN key and press the F4 function key once which toggles the display to the External Display source like the television connected along with the LCD of the Notebook.
If the FN and F4 key combination is pressed again, the display will dissappear from the LCD of the Notebook and remain only on the external source.
If the FN and F4 key combination is pressed third time, the display will be back on the LCD of the Notebook and will not remain on the External display source.
Here are these details in other way :
First time pressing FN + F4 ---> Display on LCD and External display
Second time pressing FN + F4 ---> Display not on LCD but on the External Display
Third time pressing FN + F4 ---> Display back on the LCD and not available on External Display (Normal position).
Below are the details of what the Function keys in your DV1000 Notebook work :
fn + f1 Opens Help and Support Center
fn + f2 Opens print options window
fn + f3 Opens default Internet browser
fn + f4 Switches the image among displays
fn + f5 Initiates Standby
fn + f6 Initiates QuickLock
fn + f7 Decreases screen brightness
fn + f8 Increases screen brightness
fn + f9 Plays, pauses, or resumes an audio CD or DVD
fn + f10 Stops an audio CD or DVD
fn + f11 Plays the previous track or chapter on an audio CD or DVD
fn + f12 Plays the next track or chapter on an audio CD or DVD
fn + esc Displays system information.* (*To clear the system information display, press esc.)
Hope this helps...
