When you turn on the Receiver if after 4 seconds you hear a click and the standby light starts blinking - it indicates an output short circuit. You will need professional help to replace the components because modern AV receivers have very complex construction ( multiple circuit boards mounted on one motherboard and a lot of interconnecting cables )

How do I trouble shoot my HT-e320? The problem is, when ever you turn it on, a word "prot" is appearing and it will shut off

Your receiver in PROTECT mode has been shut down most likely to DC Offset(a damaged amplifier) That damage will have to be repaired before the unit can be reset. The repair is major, and certainly not a DIY project. If you would like more assistance, or would like to inquire about repairing your receiver, please visit my website at audioserviceclinic.co. You may contact me there, Thank you.

Fan condenser unit wont run

This is usually a bad capacitor or bad fan motor. The capacitor is located inside the electrical panel on the outside unit. You can check these by using a meter that measures Mfds (Microfarads), most of the time you can visually see the capacitor swollen or blown. The fan motor can be checked by a meter that measures ohms, really high ohms are usually bad. If you can't spin the fan blade easily, then it's locked up. What usually happens, the capacitor or motor windings go bad, doesn't spin the fan blade, overheats the compressor so it kicks out on thermal protection till it cools back down, and sometimes the motor will overheat and go into thermal protection also. Just make sure you are getting the 220v to the outside unit too, but shut all power off before doing any trouble-shooting. Hope this helps, feel free to ask any questions!

We had lightening today and after one strike, my tv went off. It will come back on but only the sound. The standby light on the front of the tv is flashing and after about 10 seconds the tv shuts itself...

Tries tv unplug, replug it back like about an hour later. For the tv,to do a resetting itself. It is an auto detection mechanism to protected itself circuitries for not letting more power than it need for damaging itself. This disconnection and reconnection of the power source should be able to give ur tv a 50/50 chances to be working again. Not,must hire a tv tech. to for a trouble shooting and replace components parts, bcause the lightening have a source power to high of a voltages for the tv protection circuitries to handle.

How do I reset? I keep getting "prot" message when trying to turn unit on. It keeps shutting down..is not overheating.

The prot is the protection warning message that the amplifier defaults to when there is a problem. Try this: Turn the volume control WAY down. Disconnect your speaker leads from the rear of the component. Turn the unit on and see if it still protects itself. If the protection still comes on the amplifier is bad and needs serviced. If it appears OK, then connect one pair of speakers at a time to see which set has the problem. Usually the wires not the speakers themselves are the trouble.

Keeps flashing PROTECT when switched on

Check all of your connections very carefully. If all seems well, disconnect one wire at a time, then power on after each wire is disconnected. Alternate between power off (remove a wire) then power on. If the PROTECT comes back on, reconnect the one wire and then power off. Disconnect the next wire, power on, and see if the PROTECT comes back on. If so, reconnect that wire and continue until all of your wires are checked. If at some point after disconnecting a wire and powering back up, the PROTECT does not appear, that wire you just disconnected is the culprit and needs to be replaced. Even a single strand of speaker wire crossing to another opposite polarity (speaker wire) or input can cause a fault making the receiver "PROTECT" itself. Although it may be tedious, it is effective to trouble shoot this way for the first step. If you want disconnect all wires from the receiver and then power on to see if it does it independently of any other connections. I hope this helps and good luck. I have 2 seperate circuts that keep going out then after a few minutes they come back on

What are you running on these two cirduits?

Is the total load more than the rated breaker?

15 amp should be protecting #14 wire. 20 amp shuld be protecting #12 wire. 30 amp #10 wire.

Add up the amps of everything you have on the line to check this. If you have Clamp Amp meter, you can measure what is going out the wire.

On second thought, if you had a clamp amp meter, you wuldn't be asking the question.

Let me know what you find out ...

The amp protection circuit was actived - what should we do?

Remove all speaker wires from the receiver and turn it on.

If it still goes into protect, I'll bet the house that one of the channels is shorted out and it needs repair. This is a job for a pro.

If it doesn't go into protect, check for a short in the speaker wire or for a bad speaker.

42 pioneer plasm

hello, your plasma activated a shutdown circut. something caused a fault in one or more of your internal circut boards. it is common it happens alot with these plasma tv's. it happens if theres something wrong internally. this is protecting your plasma panel from further damage, i dont think it has anything to do with the back light that is lcd. this is for main plasma panel protection .
blinking lights mean theres a problem with the power supply load voltages and the plasma main panel will not powered up fully.
it can be a number of different situations or even a fuse, what you can do is find a qualified service center online that offers free in home estimates, you can asked them over the phone they will know becuase of the number of times the tv blinks. they will be able to pin point the problem and usaully it will be a matter of exchanging one or more internal boards or the power supply it self.. i had this same trouble with my panasonic th42pz700u i would suggest letting a qualified tech fix it is not easy to find the fualt without proper training, electronic testing equipment, specific model schematics and repair service manuals. they will also have to adjust the voltages when they finish so it isnt easy to do yourself besides the voltages inside are really dangerous.

hope this helps
good luck and happy holidays
