Hello Tedl04,
You can download the software driver for this printer and computer from this website. Please download to desktop and then run before plugging in printer. The setup wizard will let you know when to plug in printer.

Thanks,
Lolita

PC System Restore without disk?

Telephone eMachines, and order a replacement set of "System Restore" CD-ROM disks.
Probably about $20 for the set, and $20 for overnight-courier shipping.
Use those disks to reinstall the Operating System that was originally installed on the computer.

Use a regular Windows install disk and find from here

and install the drivers yourself.

Need to reload windows xp on Emachines PC

Yes all you have to do is.........

Turn off the Computer
Turn back on and Press F11 repeatedly when the message "Press F11 to start recovery" is displayed.
The recovery will load and display a menu of options:

Full System Restore (with Backup): This options will move all Hard Disk contents to the "c:\My Backup" directory and install a new copy of Windows. This option preserves your existing data files, however all applications and settings will need to be reinstalled. This option requires 4GB of free Hard Disk space for the new OS.

Alway suggest backing up your data before you do any recovery

Visit the eMachines website, put in your model number: T6536 and then choose Windows XP 32 bit, and download the sound driver:
http://www.emachines.com/ec/en/US/content/drivers.html

Even though you indicate that you have a 64 bit version of Windows XP, the 32 bit driver should work for the sound.

Connecting without the cd

Yes, but you'll still need the drivers. The disk that came with the printer originally had the dirvers on it.

The drivers without the disk can be found at this link: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=305961&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=us

You'll need to know what operating system you have, but that should work without a hitch. Let me know if you need any more help!

Hello,

If you have the original restore disk you can use that, if not - what operating system is it? Windows/Linux? XP, 2k, etc? I can guide you how to fix the problem.
