Question about Yamaha YST-M15 Computer Speakers
the best connection is to connect your sub to the output connector (subwoofer) of your HTR. it should have one. But you can also connect parallel to the speakers, any of right or left speakers or both. i normally connect to the speaker set B if thorugh the speaker connections.

Yes you can modify RCA cables to make bare wire tails.
If the unit has a sub o/p then you just connect up your sub bass unit to whatever the amp needs.
An RCA cable is 2 wire which is all you would normally need for sub bass speaker level signal.
It may be a good idea to eventually upgrade the wire size if you want really good sub bass as lower frequencies draw more current and so require more copper.
Please let me know if this any help, thanks for using FixYa.

The speakers just plug into the sound port on the back of the computer. I never found a need to download any drivers for the YST-M15s that I have. You may not either. Why do you think you need drivers?

You can reset the settings to factory defaults via the Advanced menu - it should be in your manual (I have RX-V465).
Do it from the standby mode.
Press the STANDBY button on front panel (not remote) together with STRAIGHT button on the front panel. Now you are in the Advanced Setup. Scroll to the INIT menu and select ALL.
Now you will have all settings in the default.
