Sounds as if you have a lose wire in the base or else you element has failed. Undo the bottom of the kettle and check all wires are connected to the element. If all the wires are connect i would say your element has blown.

I have a tefal kettle - the light is coming on as normal when I switch it on, but it is not boiling. I've only had this about 4 months so no idea why it is has just failed all of a sudden.

I had a Tefal toaster and it was short-lived. I was disappointed with the quality of the internals...

The disc elements of the modern kettle that will boil as little as a single cup of water are highly stressed and tend not to live long. Most do at least last the warranty, unlike your kettle which might be suffering a broken element.

At 4 months old you should have no trouble getting it replaced under warranty.

My Hamilton beach 40996 kettle Suddenly it stopped boiling. The on button lights up and reads temp but never boils. It worked and then suddenly stopped. Any chance this is a program problem somehow?

What a crazy over-complicated kettle!
Disc element kettles do tend to have a limited life that is a small fraction of the lifespan of standard kettle elements. The ones I have had usually only last until the guarantee has expired. To discover whether it is the kettle or the base it will be necessary to use a multimeter to check the supply from the base.

There are too much mineral residue in the bottom of ny kettle PLs show me how to remove it , my is about 10 month s old!!

You can remove it by using baking soda, or use the stain remover available in household hardware shop. There instruction in the box so just follow it.
Also when mineral residue is remove. Use a fitered water for boiling the water, filtered water doesn't stain must compare to tap water.
I hope I help you solve your problem.

I have a new Bellini electric kettle. When I turn the kettle on, it starts to boil for a few seconds and then turns itself off. It will boil if I hold the "button" down for a while until it...

Unfortunately the problem is in the switch mechanism, and will need to be replaced to correct the problem. My sense is it would be cheaper to replace the kettle than trying to find somebody to repair it.

Sediment in my electric tea kettle

it is very hard to get rid off ass the sediment comes from the tap water untill you boil the water you dont see this sediment and take it for granted that the water is clean but as soon as you put it in a electric kettle this sediment builds up on the element then it brakes off and floats around in the kettle most new kettles have a filter near the spout so when you pour the water out it traps it in the filter then this can be removed and cleaned but the sediment floating in the kettle is hard to get out you can clean the element and descale it and then just keep pouring water in and out of kettle till its all out but it will soon build up again there are two ways to stop sediment one is filter all the water before putting in kettle but this can be slow process so not worth doing or the best sollution is buy a kettle that has a filter by the spout of the kettle and clean this regularly hope this is some help to you............................................

Red light's on... but no hot water!

OK, inside the unit there are three items, the heating element, thermostat, and thermal fuse. What has happened is the element got too hot and the thermal fuse opened. There is no reset button. In some cases you may run across a defective heating element or thermostat but its not common. The fix would probably be replacement of the thermostat and thermal fuse. For this, you would have to contact a small appliance repair center in your area.
