W dyson,

To unlock it from the "Do Not Disconnect Mode", do the following:

1) Toggle HOLD switch to ON and then OFF (Slide/Move it to HOLD, then turn it OFF again)

2) Press and HOLD the Menu and Center/Select (Do not hold press it dead centre though) buttons together at the same time until the APPLE logo appears, This takes about 8 to 10 sec.

ALSO NOTE: (Found this on an Apple Help site, if the above does not work)
Try connecting iPOD to a Active power adapter, or connect iPod to your Active computer. Now try resetting the iPOD while it is connected to power.

As for the problem with syncing, please check the setting "Sync Music" in the Music Tab which is found in iTunes, after selecting your device. Like so: Plug In Device >> Select Device In iTunes >> Select Music Tab >> Make sure Sync Music is selected...

Your problems should be over.

Hope you find this helpful. If you do, please accept the answer.

Open iTunes on your computer and reconnect your iPod to try to sync it with iTunes. Restart iPod service b> Close iTunes and make sure your iPod is disconnected from the computer. How can i unlock my ipod touch? i forgot my passcode.

The only thing that could make your iPod touch work again is to put it to DFU mode and restore. I have a full instruction about that to guide you step by step, making sure that you're doing the right thing.

However, that process will wipe out all the data from your iPod, you won't even be able to sync or create a back-up because iTunes does not recognize any iPod that is passcode-locked.

That is also why you need to put your iPod to DFU mode first, so that iTunes can recognize it, to by-pass the fact that it is passcode-locked. And, once its in DFU mode, the only thing that you'll be able to do is to restore, nothing else. And you have no other choice.

Click here for instruction on how to put your iPod touch to DFU mode and restore.

1. Try another USB cord or USB cable.
2. Restrart your computer for a try.
3. Reset or restore your iPod for a try, this way can fix many general iPod problems.
4. Download and install the latest version fo iTunes for a try.
5. You may try this iPod transfer, it's a nice iTunes alternative that can help you upload music and video to iPod, I always use it to sync my iPod when my iTunes can't recognize my iPod, it's easy to use and works pretty well.

it could be your flash memory is corrupt or that you need to reformat and re-install the latest ipod/itunes software. if you continue having problems you should contact your local apple store they should be able to figure out the problem.

My ipod30gb was locked and the center button isnt working

Unlocking the ipod:
Connect your iPod to the primary computer you use it with (the first one iPod synced with), and open iTunes. When you disconnect iPod from the computer, it will no longer be locked. If you can't unlock iPod using either [the code or connecting it to the computer you use to manage its songs]. . . you can restore your iPod to factory settings using iPod Updater. Please note that this will erase all data on your iPod. Afterwards, you can add your music and data back to your iPod. If you want to change the primary computer that your iPod is associated with, do this: 1. Restore your iPod. Warning: The restore process cannot be undone. All of your songs and files will be deleted. Always make a backup of your important data. 2. Connect your iPod to the computer that you want to be the primary computer. 3. Open iTunes and synchronize.

I have a apple ipod classic it won't download music from itunes

iTunes includes several options to automatically or manually sync videos to your iPod classic, iPod nano (3rd generation), or iPod (5th generation). Read this article to learn more about these two methods.
Products Affected iTunes, iPod nano (3rd generation), iPod classic, iPod (5th generation)
Syncing videos automatically Connect your iPod to your computer and open iTunes. Select your iPod in the DEVICES section of the iTunes Source list.

In the main iTunes browser window, select the Music tab. Select the checkbox labeled "Sync music" and verify that the "Include music videos" checkbox is also selected. You have the option to sync all songs and playlists or selected playlists.

Movies can be automatically synced to iPod. Select the Movies tab and select the option to sync all movies, selected movies, or a certain number recent unwatched movies.

TV Shows can be automatically synced to iPod. Select the TV Shows tab and select the option to sync all TV shows or selected ones. You can also determine which episodes are synced based on if they are recent or unwatched.

Video Podcasts can be automatically synced to iPod. Select the Podcasts tab select the option to sync all podcasts or selected ones. You can also determine which episodes are synced based on if they are recent, new or unplayed.

Click Apply and iTunes will begin syncing the content you've selected to your iPod. Tip: You can use the capacity bar at the bottom of the iPod settings window to determine how much free space is available. The size of a playlist can be determined by selecting it and looking at the bottom of the iTunes window.

The iTunes LCD will display the sync progress and notify you when the iPod sync is complete.

To disconnect your iPod, select it in the Source list and click the eject icon.
Syncing videos manually If your prefer not to automatically sync video content to your iPod, you can setup manual syncing.
Connect your iPod to your computer and open iTunes. Select your iPod in the DEVICES section of the iTunes Source list.

This will deselect the automatic sync settings for the Music, Movies, and TV Shows tabs. Click Apply. To manually add music videos, movies or TV shows to your iPod, choose one of these categories under LIBRARY in the Source list. Select and drag items you want (to choose multiple items, Command-click items on a Mac or Control-click items in Windows), then drag them onto your iPod icon in the Source list. To add a playlist, select it in the Source list and drag it onto your iPod in the same ways as a video or song.
