Hello, I have the Homedics Model SC-403 bathroom scale and may need your troubleshooting advice. Recently, it began showing erratic when we stand on the scale. It seems very sensitive and the weight varies plus or minus 10 pounds and settles down to a final weight value, but seems 10 pound low. Sometimes the weight is never displayed and it shows error. This has never performed like this before. It has always been accurate and stable. Can you help? [email protected]

My initial thought was that the battery might be getting low, but for this model, the battery is supposed to last the lifetime of the product.
Regardless of whether this is an issue with the battery or the unit, the scale should be under the manufacturer's lifetime limited warranty.
You can contact the Homedics by phone at: 1-800-466-3342. You can also contact them via email from their online form: http://www.homedics.com/home/contacts/
Hope this was helpful.

My homedics sc-475 scale was showing illegible print. I put in a new 2032 battery. No change. Now what?

Hello,
It's not a battery problem. The LCD panel of the DIGITAL SCALE has been wrong. Reasons: water, vapour, connector oxidation.

Trying to find the manual for homedics home bathroom scale SC 571.

Wondering if the company is behind with their website postings. The USA website posts Instruction Manuals for their products but there is not one available for the SC-571.

You could check periodically here:

http://www.homedics.com/home/instruction-books/

Other option is to send an e-mail request to their customer service; contact is on same page.

You might also look for a similar model to the SC-571 and see if the available instructions are of assistance.

Need to reset scale weight

You have probably set your scale to kilogram and not pounds. There should be a button to set this underneath the scale or even a reset button to reset the scale to its original settings.

Body Fat Reading Changing Drastically

The fact of matter is those devices are inacurate for some reason more so on smaller females. But if you recently took a bath or drank water it will alter the results, they suggest taking it first thing before bath or eating in the morning at same time everyday to get a more acurate reading.

This may be getting personal but implants will also affect the reading making it totally useless for you to use. I have them and the electrical impedence devices read me much higher then what i am, a few minutes later will read me lower.

I would head down to your gym most of them will do a free body fat test with the calipers which is more acurate (as long as they know what they are doing).
