From the HP website:

The power to the wireless network and bluetooth devices is controlled by a switch or button on most computers. It is possible to accidentally bump the button and turn off the wireless service. I am having trouble connecting - c02230159.jpg On most computers, there is an LED light that glows blue when the wireless device is turned on and enabled, and glows orange when off or disabled. Some newer models use different a different color scheme. To turn on and enable the wireless device, do the following:

  1. To turn on the wireless device, simply move the switch to the on position. On some computers, the switch is actually a touch point on the panel above the keyboard.
  2. To enable the wireless device, right-click the HP Wireless Assistant (disabled) icon c02228164.gif and select Open Wireless Assistant . Click Turn On . The HP Wireless AssisI am having trouble connecting - c02228163.gif) icon c02228163.gif will display.

Your problem may appear from a not properly enabled WLAN card.
Make sure the Wi-Fi swithc is in ON position and on your laptop keyboard try the FN+F8 combination to have displayed the wireless card status. The WLAN card has to be ENABLED to be able to connect to the Internet. The combination done will make appear on your display a window with some options available; choose that option that enables your wireless card.
Also check in your computer's DEVICE MANAGER if your WLAN card is working properly. To do so follow these simple steps:
1. START and click on SYSTEM;
2. in SYSTEM option click on DEVICE MANAGER;
3. on DEVICE MANAGER option go at NETWORK ADAPTERS and see if there your wireless card is indicated and it shows that it is working PROPERLY;
4. if an UNKNOWN DEVICE is indicated then try to find the right driver for you notebook model and WLAN card model;
5. install the driver then REBOOT and recheck in DEVICE MANAGER if your WLAN card is displayed properly this time.

Wireless Lan: I hadn't used my e755 in a very

You did not say what wireless you are using. The e755 is the PDA and it is having trouble with the connection to the wireless lan. There have been a lot of updates to the wireless devices because of security issues. IT could be that the PDA can not talk to the wireless because the wireless is updated. You may have to reset the PDA and have it discover the wireless connection all over again.

Router won't broadcast

Use your computer's web-browser to connect to the web-server "inside" the router.
Check the 'WAN' settings -- they seem to be OK, since you have Internet access.
Check the 'Wireless' settings, or just rerun the Wireless Configuration Wizard, to rebuild your wireless network.

My computer doesn't connect to internet.

Be sure your Wireless card is activated on your PC.
Check manufacturer instruction on How Physical activate it: HP Compaq 6710 has a touch switch on top of the keyboard. Lenovo T62 has a slide switch on front side
Some other Think pad use FN + F5
If you do not see any network be sure WLAN is on than check your WLAN card for wireless characteristics (Control Panel/Network characteristics/Wlan interface properties in General tab identify your device (connect using) May be you have to configure according to your environment
