Question about Canon LC-3175 Laser Fax

2 Answers

The fax received is always letter size, but my laser 3175 will print for a while, then it will stop and give an error msg oof check paper size. I have change the parts in the tray, and it worked for awhile, then the msg came back. When I pull the tray out and use can air, it will work for awhile and then the error will come back. Could it be the roller in the print tray causing the problem?

I have no idea what you are referring to. My fax unit is a canon laserclass 3175, it is not connected to any of the computer. Please clarify what you are referring to.

The fax is a Canon laserclass 3175 serial# uyr52132. I was not aware that canon had more than one type of laser class 3175. Sorry

The fax machine I am inquiring on is a laser class 3175, serial #52132. Any idea how this issue can be fixed, I replace the tray and rollers in the tray area.

Open the paper tray and extend it to legal, then place legal paper on the thing. It is the only way to solve this problem.

If this wont woek, I suggtes check this Technical Bulletin (click the link) about HOW TO FIX THE CHECK PAPER SIZE ERROR MESSAGE FOR MF5600/MF5700 SERIES LASER MULTIFUNCTIONAL

sorry if you are not sure what I mean.
I mean you need to identify the machine model in more detail to find the solution of your problem.

Hi. i hope you can give a suggestion with our brother intellifax 2820. Whenever printing a received fax, the machine prints out a blank page in between each received page. so, for example, we receive pg1,...

press "menu/set, 1, then 3. you should see "paper size" on display. select "letter" if thats what you are using, and press "menu/set" again, then "stop/exit" to back out. next, make sure your "fax" button below display is green, then press "menu/set, 2, 1, then 5.using your arrow keys, select "on". press "menu/set" then "stop/exit". that should do it.

Everytime I receive a fax, the first page prints out then I get a "Check paper size" error

Sounds like you have the paper size in the tray set incorrectly. For example, it may be set to legal, but you have letter size in the tray. This would cause that message to display. Check your setup options for the paper setting.

Canon Laser Class 3175 facsimile, incoming faxes are being saved in memory, will not print. Cannot clear error message "check paper size".

The problem is that you have a fax saved in memory that is the wrong size for the paper you have in the drawer. Probably it is a legal size, whereas you have letter size in the drawer.Just place some legal size paper in the by-pass tray to print.

Brother MFC6800 not printing

To answer more effectively - how is the printer connected to the iMac? Is it a USB connection, a printer cable, is the MFC 6800 connected to a print server, an AirPor, etc? A second question I have is if you are trying any kind of tricky printing such as manualduplex printing.

Also, a shot in the dark...Is the Auto Reduction set to on or off? To check:
1. Press MENU/SET, 2 (Fax), 1 (Setup Receive), then 4 (Auto Reduction).

2. Press the up or down navigation key (keys located above and below the
MENU/SET key) until the display shows "Reduction: ON?".

3. Press MENU/SET.

4. Press STOP/EXIT.

Another item to keep in mind:
You can use three sizes of paper for printing your faxes and
copies---letter, legal and A4. When you change the size of paper you ha
ve loaded in the Brother machine, you need to change the setting for the paper size so your Brother machine can fit the incoming
fax on the page. To set the Paper Size:

1. Press MENU/SET, 1 (General Setup), then 1 (Paper Size).

2. Press the up or down navigation key to select LETTER, LEGAL, or A4.

3. Press MENU/SET.

4. Press STOP/EXIT.
