Change the output to pal or ntsc on the sky box, then it should display in colour. If that doesnt work change the input on the tv to pal or ntsc.

SOURCE: the sky box is on

Check all of the cable between the tv and the box are correctly inserted by removing and refitting them. If you're using scart leads look at the pins in the plugs: if any are missing or bent replace the lead entirely. If that fails look at your dish to ensure that it still seems OK: they can get knocked off-aim by window cleaners for example and I've even known the LNB to be stolen (the box of electronics on the front of the dish).

If that doesn't work then you need to phone Sky for further troubleshooting.

Hi, I have bought a Sony Dav s550 Surround Sound System. When I tried to set it up all I got was a picture on the tv but no sound. I checked the fibre optic lead even bought a new one but still no sound...

Check to see if your sky box has an output for fiber optic cable, if it does then go to the box configuration and make sure its enabled. Also is possible to transfer sound through HDMI so if your sky box has an output make sure audio is enabled.
If the box does not have the fiber optic out or HDMI then you will have to go old style with regular red and white audio cables and connect them to your home theater system. If you want audio for both TV and surround system you can use Adaptor Splitter 1 Male to 2 Female Audio AV
and get two of them, one for the reds and one for the whites that will be connected to your sky box, i hope it all makes sense and helps.

I cant get dvd recorder to record ext 2

Firstly, is the scart lead plugged in fully? Does it get the sound or nothing?
Is the recorder sitched to the correct input? It may be trying to pull a signal from the TV which may not be passing through the picture from the sky box.
Also, is the scart lead fully wired? Some only work one way so try spinning it round between the recorder and sky box.

EasyCap - ''no input signal or signal is unclear'' Please Help!!!

In the ULead VideoStudio Application. Go to "Capture" tabbed panel. Select "Options" then "Video and Audio Capture Property Settings...". A window should pop up.

In the "Source" tabbed panel. Change the "Input Source" drop down menu to either "Video Composite" or "Video S-Video" depending on whether you are using the yellow or S-Video picture lead.
Change the "TV System" combo-box to PAL for colour and NTSC for black and white. On my computer S-Video option is showing black and white when using my Sky HD box, don't know why this is yet.
Try the above and you should get a picture. You can also change the frame rate and other compression techniques etc.
If it still doesn't work try changing your digital/sky/vcr/xbox picture settings to PAL for colour or others for picture preference.

Hope this helps.

Goodluck

Hi i have a krf-v5030d and i am having trouble woking out how to connect it to my panasonic 37'' plasma th37px70b and my sky plus box can you help me please .thanks john

Hi John,

I have the same amplifier, a Sky + HD box, an LCD TV an surround speakers. We wont go into the Wii, PS3 and PC also hooked up. Essentially the best way to go (whatever you connect up) is to split the video and audio signals.

Sky: The Sky box has an audio outputs (left and right channel) found at the back of the box. You get some twin audio cables, plug into the back of the Sky box and the other end into the Kenwood Amp (for example we use Video 1). This means that the sound from Sky can be found on Video 1 on the Amp.

You take the video signal (picture) from Sky using a SCART cable and put into the back of your panasonic TV. This does mean that you can watch a picture without the sound and listen without a picture. The Amp remote controls the sound, the Sky / TV remote controls the picture.

You may need to tinker with some settings on the Amp, for example on the front of the Amp you will find a source button, toggle through the 3 or 4 options to give you the right sound. But essentially that should be it. The same process is used for any other things you want to add, like a DVD player, a games console and so on.

Hope this helps.

Regards, Mohammed

I hvae just purchased a Samsung HXT 30 sound system and connected it to the tv anbd sky hd box how do I get sound from the tv it would appear it is a problem what cables do I need I have aq HDMI from the...

You need to run a cable from your Sky (satellite box) box's 'Audio Out' jacks to the sound system's 'Audio in' jacks. Make sure the Sound system is set on the same function as where you plugged in the cables (RCA type, red & white) on the back of the sound system. (example: if you used the 'Auxilliary' jacks, set the sound system on 'Aux')

If it's sound 'from' the TV as well as the sound system you'll need to connect another set (of red & white RCA) cables from the Sound System's 'Audio Out' jacks to the Television's 'Audio In' jacks. This should give you sound from both the TV's speakers and the Sound System. Good Luck!

Picture Flashing

I have a similar problem but my picture flashes black and white and the sound goes at the same. Also sometimes it will flash pink and blue. I've read elsewhere that the issue is a known problem with compatability between Samsung tv's and sky boxes. Apparently the box needs to be replaced but I'm unsure what type of box. I've read perhaps a PACE sky box could fix the problem. I think the best option would be to contact Samsung - that's what I'm going to do.
