Fuser is bad...actually, the paper jam sensor is bad. can I use a fuser from a different printer

The fuser looks identical to the GCC elite XL 20/1200 I also own. I found a number on the top of casing....>ABS+PBT-GF30< ...and under that....FR-X2...on both the Xante's and the GCC's fuser casing. Are the same part? and if so would they use the same toner cartridge (looks the same as well).

    2 second question

Can the Xante 502 work or print glossy paper of 100 to 200 grams?

Yes, most likely they do. I don't believe there is much if anything that differentiates one toner from another other then the size of the roller and the shape of the cartridge. If these are the same and given that they use the same fuser, I would definitely try it.

Hi, I can't use the printey GCC Elite, XL 20/600, after I have installed system Mac OS X 10.6.6 I can't see the printer now. I tried to use drive from the GCC site, but It was nuless. What I can...

you should connect using ethernet. (probably no other way at this point, unless you found some crazy adapter, i guess)

click the apple logo in the upper left corner.

select system preferences:

select network:

select ethernet:

you have two choices, you can either write down the computers IP address and use that in the printer. or you can manually set your own here by choosing "Use DHCP with manual address"

if you already have a bunch of stuff networked, you probably shouldn't change your IP. but if the current IP isnt one you can set your printer to, then you'll have to change it here.

lets say your computer IP is set to 192.000.001.001

in printer your printer menu:

go to interfaces:

go to tcp/ip (make sure it's enabled): ip class C, subnet mask FFFO, go to IP address

set to 192.000.001.002 (it needs to be almost the same as the computer, but with the last number different)

in preferences: printers: add printer:

Protocol: LPD

Address: 192.000.001.002:515

[THE 515 AT THE END IS THE PORT NUMBER, ITS SUPER IMPORTANT]

Queue: EliteXL [ALSO IMPORTANT]

Name: gcc (doesn't matter)

Print using GCC Elite XL 20/600 v3.31 (or whatever driver you have)

hints if those numbers didnt work for you:

I got the queue number and port number by printing the config page directly from the printer (not the help page)

On the config page, look for "interfaces"

under that, look for "TCP/IP"

under that, look for "Lpd"

there you will find the queue name and port number. this info was missing from a lot of the other online solutions i found and it didnt work until i got it right. (use the port number listed above the queue name, not the one listed below after TCP)

I run windows 7 64 bit i need a driver for a ccc elite xl 608 laserprinter

If you have a Windows XP x64 CD, try the GCC SelectPress 600 or Select Press 1200 driver. The SelectPress 1200 worked for my Elite XL 20/1200. I believe the only 64-bit drivers that are available for GCC printers are on the XP 64 disc.

Gcc 20/1200 driver windows 7 64 bit

If you have a Windows XP x64 CD, you can use the GCC SelectPress 1200 driver. This works perfectly with the XL 20 1200 with all features and paper sizes.

When fuser is hot (10-15 min. or so, print is smeared, has lines through it, and sometimes there is only the suggestion of an image. You can get a good image before the fuser heats up, but density is...

The thermostat on the fuser is failing. Toner requires the fuser to operate at a specific temperature range, too hot or too cold and it begins to stick to things it shouldn't and fall from things is should (like your paper)...in your case the thermostat is not stopping the fuser as it gets too hot. Not only will this eventually cause scoring and melting inside the printer, possibly fire...it means the printer only prints well as the fuser heats up through it's optimum range then you begin to get smearing.

202 pam jam

usually it means that a sensor in your fuser is bad. If you have a P.M. Kit replaced the fuser and clean the printer.

but before you do, make sure that you have cleared all jams, including in the fuser.

Its probably time for a Preventive Maintanence

Xante cl30 color laser printer paper jam

Remove the fuser and examine it closely (Note: the fuser gets extremely hot. Wait until it has cooled completely before touching it!) Paper or a paper fragment might be balled up inside it.

Even just re-seating the fuser might clear the sensor that is reporting this jam.

If the printer continues to stall with this error code, even though there is no jam, it could have a faulty sensor. This would have to be repaired with a service call...
