Hi there, I have a HP Officejet Pro L7580 that I used to use and I want to begin using it again. I haven't got the Starter CD :( I must have misplaced it. I want to install the Officejet onto a PC that's running Windows XP OS. I just downloaded from HP's website the suitable driver "OJProL7X00_Full_14" I installed the driver to my hard drive. I can see all these .exe files in my C:\hp\OJProL7X00_Full_14\setup folder. Which .exe file do I open to install the Officejet Pro onto my PC? My PC is hardwired / connected to my PC via an Ethernet cable. Thanks, Lili

SOURCE: Getting error when trying to fax or scan

The L7580 is not meant to be set up as a scanning device on a network. This unit can only function properly as a USB connected device to have all the features work. Also, for the software to install with out problems, all other All in One software fro previous HP printers need to be removed. Once we did that and did clean install using USB only then did it work.

Whats your hardware.
Try this solution...
Does it show up in your hardware profiles? What does it say on details when you right click the scanner? When you installed the driver, was it before your plugged in the USB? You may have to uninstall and reinstall it again, this time use the one from HP's website with any patch if applicable.

If you have successfully used it in the past, follow the install prompts and restart.. instead of using the products software, use Windows included scanning2_bing.gif program which is much better than the proprietary one designed by HP. As long as you have the proper driver installed your system will know how to apply it.

Hello, I have an HP Officejet Pro L7580 All In One printer. Sat for 2 years. Barely used when purchased 3 yrs ago. Just hooked it up again. Replaced all ink cartridges...now prints are very pixelated and...

Try doing running it through it's aligment process.

It is also possible that the contacts where the ink cartridges mate up with the printer are corroded. Try using an eraser to clean the corrosion off the mating surface in the printer.

Printhead replaced; still says yellow is empty

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud
