My address is 11 Oakway, Studham, Bedfordshire LU6 2PE UK and I have just bought Philips Model Portable DVD player/TVplayer/Radio player PET835/00,but neither "UK" or "England2 appear in the select list for "country" under the DDTV set up menu, so I am having to select "other". Is that right, please, or should I select something else. Currently I cannot get any TV channels. I'd be very grateful for your help.

It may be necessary for you to hook into an antenna device before you begin this procedure.

You did not mention whether you had an antenna hooked up, so please try this.

Here is some info from the manual that describes that info:

Before installation, please make sure you are in an area with
sufficient DTT signal coverage. You can check the signal coverage
on country TV broadcast authority or visit

5.9.1 First Time Installation
Antenna connection
Before start the search the TV channel, connect the DVD player to
the antenna as shown.

See the manual reset on your dvd on fctory setting then after try to on

Press setup -> TV/RADIO -> Country
Browse the list up and down, it should go down down and up up up.. as you go up and down.

Select your country from the list, and it should be there really..
(let me know if it really isn't)

Select auto search

Done

I think this unit is not made for UK region thats why you are not getting UK or England appears in contry list. You may select Other Country for playback. Regarding TV Channels, its defference of Standerd in TV Transmission signal. Please check what region product you bought.

Have you gone through the manual or you have contacted the vendor from which you bought the unit
