Hi, I got a Genius G-pen 560 from my Grandfather today and I have been trying to make it work, but the most I have gotten from it was a few random movements. Most of which most took the mouse as far down as it could go on my screen and if I keep the pen down I could only move it horizontally. I cannot do anything of value with this thing. I cannot even draw anything on Freenotes. Am I doing anything wrong or using it wrong? I have XP service pack 3 and for the tablet driver version 3.12 Please help!

No software aside from drivers are necessary. The Genius Tablet comes a configuration menu you can test. If you don't have this, you can get it for free from Genius' website.

You need to hold the pen close to the tablet to allow it to detect movement. I hold my pen <1cm from the surface. You may want to check the batteries.

I also solved the problem by installing the driver from the website. The trick was to uninstall the old driver first.

Try putting a new battery in it. Mine was having the same sort of problems, and they were pretty much entirely fixed by a new battery.

Maybe you should try to look at the settings and see if it says 'Pen tip' And if it says 'Nothing' Or something like that, Change it to 'Left click'.
