THe buzzing noise is most likely coming from the magneton. The magnetron is the main component of the unit (it generates the microwaves). Replaceing it can be very expensive. You may be better off getting a new oven. Prices for new microwave ovens have dropped significantly.
hello Frank. Sorry to tell you that the magnetron is going bad and making that terrible noise. Since the inside of a microwave, even unplugged has up to 2000 residual and deadly volts of electricity I recommend either calling a pro or replacing the unit.
