Try to enter BIOS (press ESC on start up) and see if mousepad is set correctly.
Otherwise try to download updated drivers from Toshiba website.

A small orange light is on showing on the mouse pad and cursor won't work. If I use a conventional mouse, it will make the cursor move

Hi
It look like your mouse pad has malfunctioned, or the drivers have not been loaded during the boot process or the drivers are corrupted. To update the drivers go to device manager in control panel and right click on the mouse pad device, click properties at the bottom of the menu that comes up and click on update driver and this should then make the mouse pad work unless it has a fault.

Toshiba touch pad scrolls instead of moving cursor

You might be able to disable the scroll function in the mouse settings. Open the control panel, then go to the Mouse icon. There might be a tab that says Device Settings. If so click that and look in Properties.

check the mouse settings in the control panel, these functions may be locked out or their may be a fault in the driver software.

Make sure you have not pressed the little button right above the mouse pad that toggles between locking the mouse pad or freeing the mouse pad.

Mouse pad problem, cursor is moving but click function is not working

Mouse pad gone bad. You need to repair it if you can,
Best option is to take at nearest technician or Repair shop if it is under warranty still.

Toshiba laptop touchpad click not working. neither is this spam phone number lol 1800-975-0148 and 1-800-532-4187

Ok so here goes.... I had the same problem:

Go to the 'start' button and then hit the 'control panel' option, then click 'mouse' then go to 'Device Settings' and then to the 'settings'. When you get to this screen it shows a list on lthe left hand side choose the 'tapping' option and then ok.

Hope it works for you...it did for me.
