As a workaround, simply get yourself a switchmode power supply that has the spec's 19 V DC @ 3 Amps, now, carefully cut of the end of the "Old" Power Jack, and the end off the "New" power jack, and Join up the wires, usually the "Inner" one is Positive, +, and the "Outer", or shield, is Usually negative, -, If you have a meter this should be used to check, connections. Otherwise just ensure you are correct. That should get you going, even if you cannot find an original, in fact, you may even find, that the PSU, you get has "Multi-way" changeable ends.

it isnt so much the monitor that plays it as the equipment that you have to play it , in other words if you have a high definition reciever or dvd player hooked up to it it will show these in hd
You can get another power supply at any of the computer retail stores for $40-$50. Pls take you comp's power source to the store as they come in different sizes and not all fit your comp.
If your power cord plugs in to the back of the monitor, then you can find one just about anywhere that computer stuff is sold, like Radio Shack and Wal-Mart. You might be able to be able to get one free from a locally owned computer repair place as they most likely have extras lying around. Doesn't hurt to call and tell them you need one. If you have to buy one, they aren't expensive, usually 5 or $10. Please let me know how it turns out!
Same exact thing has happened to me. We have determined that the monitor itself is good, but the DC adaptor is what went bad. Now I am on the hunt for the power adapter.
