Question about Philips GoGear Flash MP3 Player

1 Answer

"format not supported" - error message of death

I got a Philips GoGear 4GB {model # SA3245}

I have Windows XP, and the highspeed USB connection. The software for the player downloaded correctly.

Media Converter 2.5 does not recognize any of the songs on my pc. They are not Itunes tracks. They're WMA files stored in my music file under 'my computer'.

Since it didnt recognize any of my tracks, I downloaded the "Jodix WMA to MP3 Converter" That program does not support any of the tracks on my computer either.

I tried drag and drop of the song files from the 'music file' directly to the 'mass storage device' folder. They do show up in the player, but when I try to play them..I get a "file not found" error message on the player itsself.

I tried drag and drop of the song files from each CD directly from the CD-ROM to the 'mass stoarge device' folder. Files are 'not found' according to the player.

I reset the player with the little reset button. I reinstalled the software.

What the hell is wrong?

    Several programs and computer nerds tell me I can convert from WMA to MP3.

    The booklet that came with the MP3 player says I CAN drag and drop.

    Ripping the tracks to my windows media player has already been done. And that still doesnt help.

    Thanks anyway.

4. you can down;load the latest media converter from the philips website which will actually convert things
5. try upgrading the firmware (from the philips website) you need to download the new device manager and then follow insructions from the web page
6. try reparing your device using the new device manager (it will delete anything you have on there
