Just reset the player to its original factory settings and try. If the BIOS ic has confused with so many external commands, this type of problem will occur. By reset it to factory settings will clear the BIOS. To reset do the following.

Press and hold the POWER button for more than

five seconds. This will force the Player to power

off. Press the POWER button again to turn the
Player back on.

Unplug the power cord and then plug the power
cord again after more than five seconds
OK.

why wont HD DVD play in my sharp blu-ray?

I solved this issue by downloading the firmware update and installing it into the Blu-Ray player. Follow the instructions in the manual. It seem to work for me. Go to sharp usa website, download updates.

Select a Product Category Choose:Blu-Ray Disc Players
Enter Product Model Choose:Model Not Listed
Enter Product Model Type in: bdhp210u

Do not choose anything in the select a download type Let "Any"remain.
Click on Search and scroll down to find the firmware.

Try reflashing with your old bios until they fix this new update. If that is impossible you will need to ask for a new eprom chip.

tried checking the zoom on tv ???

I did this, so I then went back on manufacturers web site and downloaded from global site then selecting my country, downloaded cd version which you can then burn onto disk using nero 9 (Free Trail on net) .Then just insert disk into player and it should correct problem

Format the flash drive to FAT. Extract the firmware to flash drive. Turn on the player. Reset the player to factory setting from setup menu. Inser the flash drive and update firmware.
