Question about HP TouchSmart IQ770 PC Desktop

Black screen My HP touchsmart froze the other day, so I had no choice but to shut it off manually by pressing the on/off button. Then I turned it on again, but all that showed up was a black screen and a beeping noise. I don't know what to do.. How can I fix this?

i have exactly the same problem but i have no beep code which completely stumps me, is it worth me taking ram sticks out and things like this or is it pointless as the computer doesnt beep? or would the lack of beeps point to something more sierious such as motherboard? any help much appreciated

My touchsmart went to sleep last night - and won't wake back up. No lights, no sound, no nothing.

Dear,

how much the beeps are..
if it beeps longly then its ram problem.. fix it properly or change it

if it beeps some short and then stops then its vga problem, check vga card or if built in then check the vga cable of monitor or fix motherboard properly

regards,

hope it will solve the issue so dont forget to rate it

From the User Guide at... http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/manualCategory?cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=4174137&

The wireless keyboard and mouse are pre-synchronized, for your convenience, to work with your

HP TouchSmart PC. The keyboard and mouse should work immediately after you pull the battery tabs to

activate the preinstalled batteries, and then turn on the mouse (A).

You may need to manually synchronize the wireless keyboard or mouse if they are not functioning.

To synchronize them:

Make sure the keyboard and mouse are next to the HP TouchSmart PC, within 30 cm (1 foot) and

away from interference from other devices.

Keyboard: Press the Connect button on the bottom of the keyboard (B) for five seconds. The blue

activity LED on the wireless receiver illuminates when the synchronization command has been received

and turns off when synchronization is complete.

Mouse: Press the Connect button on the bottom of the mouse (C) for five seconds. The blue activity

LED on the wireless receiver illuminates when the synchronization command has been received and

turns off when synchronization is complete.

If this does not work, remove and then re-insert the wireless keyboard and mouse receiver from the back of
the computer and then synchronize the keyboard and mouse again.

HP Touchsmart IQ526- Black Screen and Amber LED please help! No display. Is this a hard drive issue?

Also had this issue on the Touchsmart IQ526. Removed the CMOS battery, waited some minutes, then powered on. The power button remained blue and had video again. Reinserted the CMOS battery and put the unit back together. Note - the battery was on the mainboard.

Screen Brightness

windows 8 to 10 have the brightness control in the action center or power settings or look in the charms bar if your using windows 8 or 8.1 (note: if brightness doesnt change it maybe due to the OS not knowing how to change the brightness let me know if that ends up being the case)

The lightning bolt on my hp touchsmart tx2 flashes

that means your laptop has no power so your battery is dead which would explain why it shut down on you, and that means its not charging so it would either be the adapter or the port on your laptop

with that problem may be your unit cannot shut down properly so as early as possible you must done with a proper shut downing of your unit.
so if that message will appear select on the "Last Known Good Configuration" and press enter, if this message will appear again you need to format your windows.

Hp dv6700 does nothing

The liquid would have shorted out the laptop and rusted the boards!

You need to go to google and find the serivce manual for the laptop and take it again to clean all the boards up.

the service manual is very easy to follow so you should have no problems at all.

if not you may be best of claiming a new one on your house insurance

My ambinent light is blinking on my hp touchsmart. the button on the left on the computer turns the light on and off and has three settings. currently, it blinks through all three settings then turns off...

sounds like either the switch controlling the light is not working or the or the abient light is burnt out causing a short. If under warranty Have this check out by an Hp Tech.

you can press and hold your CPU power button for at least 10 seconds. This will clear you hard memory cache eve if it is froze. Don't unplug it as it may damage your RAM as well as your mainboard.

Monitor shuts off and on

I had the same problem, so I switched the Auto Source feature to "Manual" and so far it's working fine for the past 2 days, if I run into the problem again I'll update this message.

On the side panel of your monitor, press the top button to access the menu, scroll down to the setup menu (by pressing the 3rd button down on the panel), press the 4th button down to enter the setup menu, scroll down to "Auto Source", use the 4th button to select, "Auto" & "Manual" are your choices.. press the 2nd button down to select "Manual" then the top button to exit the menu(s).

This monitor is set up to be able to do multi display with the software included. Utilizing both Digital and Analog signals. I'm not using this feature so I'm not sure how switching the Auto Source off will affect the performance of this feature.
