you may need another print head with that error code message. I would contact HP Total Care (1800-474-6836) and check to see if your printer or print head is in warranty, and it could be replaced. Error 0xc18a0001
The "Ink System Failure" is caused by air in the ink feed tubes. This problem can happen if you allow your ink to run all the way out or if you use poorly refilled ink cartridges that have air bubbles in them. To clear the error you will need to perform a purge on the printer. We have a step by step guide to this procedure posted on our web site at: http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/category/printer-repair/hp-printer-repair/ This should get you back printing in about 10 minutes.
I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.
The "Ox18" series errors can be removed by resetting the printer. Unplug the USB cable from the printer, remove the ink cartridges. When the "Insert ink cartridges" message appears unplug the power cord from the printer. Wait 1 minute (at least), then reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer if it didn't come on by itself. Reinsert the ink, close the unit and print a calibration page if prompted to do so. Finally reconnect the USB cable to the printer.
If this doesn't work, the unit needs service (or replacement if the service call will cost more than a new printer).
The 'ink system failure' error is caused by air in the ink feed tubes. This happens if you use poorly filled refilled cartridges or you let the cartridge run all the way to empty and the printer sucks air into the system. You will need to purge the air lines to correct the error. We have a step by step guide to do this in an article posted on our services page at: http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/category/printer-repair/hp-printer-repair/ You should be back up and printing in about 10 minutes.

THAT 0X ERROR IS AN INK SYTEM FAILURE IT MAY HAVE BEEN CAUSED FROM THE REFURBED CARTRIDGES... THE HP WILL WORK WITH THE REFURBS FOR A FEW TIMES BEFORE REJECTING THE CARTRIDGE OR CAUSING AN 0x ERROR. THE UNIT NEEDS TO GO THRU AN ELABORATE INK SYSTEM RESET. OR HAVE THE PRINTER REPLACED
I have a Photosmart C6180 all in one and get an error message 0xc18a0101 Ink System has failed. Unable to copy, receive faxes or print. Refer to printer documentation. Error: 0xc18a101.
I put new cartridges in and tried to recalibrate as mentioned by someone on the board. Can anyone help, please?
