If that still doesn't work, try a cold reset with the card installed (hold down the green button as you power on, in 5-10 seconds the display will flash cold reset and you can let go and see if the printer comes to ready) Good luck! :)
You can't. Initializing (formatting) your memory card will erase the card. But formatting the card with your camera is a necessary step to either rejuvenate the card, or minimize later file error problems that will crop up if you don't do such. Backup/download the photos that are on the card to your computer before initializing.
Initialize (sometimes called "format") erases the card and prepares it for the operating system of the camera it is used in. Go into the menu and find "format" or "initialize" and follow the on-screen instructions.
You just need to reformat the card, which you can do through the camera. I sometimes get this problem with my memory card when I take it out of my card reader without properly ejecting it first. The camera will say something along the lines of "Card Not Initialized". So, turn on your camera, hit "menu", then go to "option" (and subset "set up") , then "format" and go to the right and then click on OK and if I remember correctly, it will ask whether you really want to reformat, which you do. Caution though---you will lose any pictures on your card by doing this. But it should solve your problem! Good luck!
What type of memory card are you using? Is this a new problem since you've started using a new memory card?
The A330 can't use some of the newer types of xD cards. These have letters before the file size like "H512mb" or "M1gb".
You can only use plain xD cards with no letter in front, like the small 8mb or 16mb card that came with the camera.
Or, you can download a firmware upgrade to us type "M" xD cards.
Read about that here:

Or, if a new memory card is likely not the problem, you could try re-initializing the card. Make sure to copy any pictures from the card onto your computer first. Re-initializing will erase all data from the card.
In the Menu, use the right button to go over to "Set". Arrow up to choose "Set-up". Then arrow down on the "1" screen to "Format". It will step you through reformatting the card.
Hope this helps,
-Kelly.
