You can tell by looking at the radio. Either on the bottom or on the back of the chassis (where you would find the serial number) you will see a small green diamond with an FM logo inside. This would indicate the radio is intrinsically safe (factory mutual approved). If the radio is intrinsically safe you must also use an intrinsically safe battery. Check the battery for the green markings too.

Best regards.

GP338 with wifi router

Simple answer, no. There are devices which would aid in connecting your radio communication with the internet, too large of a topic for this basic answer. Look at http://www.telex.com/us/dispatch/products/IP%20Solutions/182 and read about their IP Gateways.

Can motorola talkabout T5720 FRS/GMRS talk with Motorola GP338 UHF?

Your GP338 would need to be reprogrammed to one or more of the frequencies available in the T5720. If you are using the interference code eliminator, it would also need to be programmed into the GP338. Take your GP338 to your local Motorola dealer for reprogramming.

Here is a link to the user guide for the T5720, where you will find a list of frequencies: http://www.giantintl.com/RadioPDFs/Outdated%20Manuals/T56XX_57XX_User_Manual_E.pdf See page 19.

Programming MotorolaGP338ls please

The GP338-LS 450-527 MHz radio is dealer programmable using Motorola proprietary RSS software. The LS model is a trunking model and would need to be programmed to the LTR trunking tower system in your area. OR you could possibly have it programmed in conventional mode, if available in your radio. This would make it radio-to-radio.

Here is Motorola's description of the radio: http://www.motorola.com/governmentandenterprise/au/en-sg/public/functions/browseproduct/productdetailpage.aspx?navigationpath=id_801i/id_1388i/id_177i/id_2270i/id_2238i

It looks much like the US version known as the HT1550LS
