I have a Infocus Lp530 that as soon as you plug it in, all the lights on the top will continually flash green and an audible clicking sound can be heard. These two things occur before the power button is ever pushed and continue until you remove the power cord. None of the buttons have any affect. In the process of dissasembling the unit and taking pictures along the way to insure an accurate reassembly. I would appreciate any help to point in the right dirrection as to the cause of this malfunction since my electrical knowledge is minimal. Thanks ahead of time.

Thank you Tim for your timely reply. What is the effect of reseating the main board? The plug is grounded and functioning correctly. Would the lamp have anything to do with the problem since it occurs before the lamp would even be powered? The lamp is in good shape with filiment intact and no buldging. I have performed a visual inspection of the circuit boards and have found no signs of burning, buldging of components, or foul smells. Are there any other "quick fixes" that may take care of this problem. Thank you again for your assistance.

You can try removing the main board & reseating it. Also try plugging into another outlet & make sure the plug has a ground prong on it. Itshould have 2 flat & 1 pin shaped prongs. Otherwise the clicking sound may be the lamp trying to ignite. Normally when you plug in the LP530 the green power light is on steady & then you press it to start the lamp. If its flashing as soon as you plug it in it's likely that the main board is bad, the button board is bad, or the ballast/power board is bad.
You should remove the lamp & inspect it. It should be clear without bulging in the little bulb behind the lamp glass. I service LP530s all the time & something like that is usually the main board.
Good luck,
Jim

Power button is flashing green, no image displayed

I had the power on and off cycling issue described in another post and when I reassembled the projector I forgot to plug the two wire plug back into the power board. The power light flashed. I removed the top cover and plugged it in and the projector is now working perfectly.

Infocus LP530 will turn on and work great for 15 minutes then shuts down and the green light turns orange and blinks. The Bulb only has 283 hours on it.

The ambient temperature in the room is to high.
Try lowering the room temperature. If that doesn't work get a small fan and place it near the projector ro provide extra cooling. The projector is running border line on high temperature and just needs a little extra cooling.

InFocus ScreenPlay 4805 no projection. Unit powers on and green light blinks, but no light and no fan, eventually red light blinks continuously about 2 seconds between blinks. When the green light is...

the high-pitched sound is the colorwheel trying to spin up to speed. that may need to be replaced. check the inside of the lamp for bulges, black spots, fogging or flaking. if it has any of those, replace the lamp. you can get parts from an infocus service center or send it to them for repair. either way, try www.avsolutionsny.com they're really good. if you want to replace it yourself, there is a detailed step-by-step on my "tips" area. it's the same as the infocus x1, x2, x3 and sp4805. click on my picture and scroll down to tips. good luck!

Infocus lp530

I called InFocus and was walked through several steps to determine if it was a bad cable or an internal problem. My InFocus unit would power up and stay powered up with no problem until I connected it to the computer using the analog computer cable (blue connectors). They had me try it with a different computer and then with the S-Video cable. Each time the InFocus unit powered down within seconds of connecting to the computer. The problem is internal. The unit had to be sent to InFocus for repair ($180). If the unit works with the S-Video cable then your problem is a bad cable.
